750 ml bottle into chalice, 2014 vintage bottling. Pours fairly crystal clear orange/copper color with a thin off white head with poor retention, that reduces to a thin ring of lace. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big raisin, plum, pear, apple, light banana, clove, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, candi sugar, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, pear, apple, light banana, clove, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, candi sugar, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, pear, apple, light banana, clove, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, candi sugar, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, fairly slick, and lightly crisp mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent quadrupel style! All around great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Has a murky copper color with a healthy white foam. Smells yeasty sweet. Tastes of honey, not too sweet. The bottom begins to taste a bit sickly sweet. Not as good as most tripels I’ve had (I would expect quadrupels to be a notch above tripels, but maybe that's ignorance), but this is still pretty tasty.

Poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance: Copper bodied brew with an off white head. Good Lacing.

Smell: Lots of big dark fruits. Spiciness from the yeast and sweet malts.

Taste: Raisins, plum, and figs. Brown sugar and caramel malts. Mild alcohol bite.

Mouthfeel: Creamy and smooth. Full bodied beer with moderate carbontion.

Overall: Really goood Quad style beer. Reminds me of Rochefort 10, but kick up a notch. Belgian style ale that is fantastic!

Thanks to Derek for sending this beer my way.

A: The beer pours amber-copper in color with a sizable off-white head.

S: A weird citrus aroma to it along with some definite cardboard notes. Toffee and caramel sweetness along with some dark fruits and a bit of spice and yeast.

T: This is sort of cidery. Lots of apple and orange peel flavor. Certainly some cardboard, too. Sweet toffee and brown sugar, a little bit of dark fruits, too. Spices, yeast, and metal round out the flavor.

M: Medium in body with a medium level of carbonation.

O: Not sure of the age on this beer, but it seemed like it might have been past its prime.

750 mL bottle poured into a chalice. It is a pinkish golden color, very well carbonated and with head that dissipates fairly quickly. Smells include bubblegum, allspice, cloves, and cherries.

Taste is a spicy and peppery mix of fruits: cherries, peaches, apples. More cloves. Alcohol is present, but it is drinkable enough. Fairly light-bodied for a quad.
