Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a beer taster.

Appearance: Fizzy, thin head which begins at about two-fingers fizzles quickly down to a fine but even froth on the surface of the beer. Carbonation is light, with most of it traveling in single-file bubble-trains. Beer itself is a burned straw color.

Smell: In two words: Banana Bread. Candy sugars, dark fruits, heavy caramel malt, a good dose of ester and some spice notes. A little too pungent to be great, but not bad by any means.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Beer has a super bite upon entry. Carbonation makes it very light on the tongue, with strong bitterness leading the way for sweet spices and fruits. Very foamy, but once it calms down, there's a nice malt underneath it all. Rinses with a lot of bitterness in the back of the throat, but all that fizzy carbonation kinda throws me off.

Overall: I used to be big on Tripels, but perhaps my tastes are changing; either that, or it tastes super-different on tap. Either way, I think it's just slightly above average for a tripel. Not bad, but I won't go out of my way to try it again.

Dense bright gold/orange with thin white head, mild lacing and tiny bubbles.

Aroma is peppery citrus, orange and lemon with cloves. Some ethanol and light malt.

Initial taste is banana and cloves then sweet candy orange. Mild spicy, clean bitterness. Dry phenol and ester aftertaste.

Medium-light body with high carbonation and a bit of oily sheen. Medium ethanol warmth.

I'm no expert on trippels but this has a lot of interesting flavors and is well balanced if a tad sweet. The alcohol waits until you aren't looking and sneaks up on you.

This is an absolutely great example of Trippel. Initial color is semi-opaque, dense yellowish; typical for a tripple. I can't fully comment on how it pours as it was on-top. Head was good and very aromatic. Taste is exceptionally sweet with citrus notes. Mouthfeel is decent and lingers notably. Overall, this is a great beer and one of my favorite trippels.

Very, very malty with a nose only a mother could love. If you're into malty, sweet brews, this one is for you. Very smooth on the way down, almost gulpable. I found myself fairly full afterwards, but wanting more of that caramel, malty flavor. A delicious brew and fun to drink. I had it at HopCat, Lansing, MI, served in a belgian beer glass.

12oz bottle, no bottling date. Thanks David. Poured into an unlabeled snifter today, 1/22/2014.

App- Slightly hazy golden body, less than 1 finger worth of white head, ok retention, small bits of lacing.

Smell- Belgian yeast spices, very malty

Taste- Malty as heck, quite sweet with Belgian candied sugar, spices, Belgian yeast flavour

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, good carbonation, not difficult to drink

Overall- I find tripels to be a boring style and this doesn't change that perception. Still a solid beer without any offensive characteristics that I didn't mind drinking
