Dragonmead's signature product! This is the ultimate Belgian style. The very high gravity of this beer is balanced by the smoothness of its finish. Banana and Clove aromas come from the Belgian yeast strain combining with the generous dose of Belgian Candi Sugar. The Saaz hops help to give this beer a balanced bitterness with no noticeable hop aroma.

Undated 12oz poured into a chalice. The label sez "Tis better to curse the darkness than to light thy hand on fire." Good advice in my book.
Hazy amber with not much of a head despite the active carbonation. A veiled ring that leaves sheets of lace as it goes down.
The nose is rather sweet with a strong yeast aroma that is slightly chalky with clove, banana, and some candy sugar. Yep, this smells belgian.
Tastes sweet, but it is paired nicely with subtle hop bitterness. Slightly tart in the middle with refined sugar, bubblegum, and a rather dry finish. Doesn't have that "off twang" that I have a problem with regarding other trips. There's more complexity here than I can articulate. Its damn good.
Nice full mouthfeel that seeks out every part of my mouth, but doesn't leave anything awkward in its wake. Quite drinkable despite the abv.

Poured orange copper color with minimal off white head and sparse lacing. The aroma had the cloves and malts which was curious but compelling.
The taste is very good representation of the style, the cloves fade back a bit while the malts and banana take the lead.
The feel is quite appropriate for the style.
I am glad this is available year round, it’s really quite tasty.

Small head production, quickly gone. A burnished coppery body, surprisingly hazy.
Boozy, phenolic nose. Apple, pear, wheat, doughy white bread, herbs.
Relatively balanced on the palate, a bit sweet, and a touch hot, but not overbearing for 10%. Spicy and herbal, phenolic and boozy, and somewhat fruity, with notes of pear, apple, and a touch of banana.

Poured in a pint glass, no visible head or lace (Tripel characteristic). Typical boozy flavor, definitely a Belgium, 10% ABV. Lot's of flavor, full bodied. I'm not normally a Belgium fan but the BA said it was "Outstanding" so I filled a growler at a local fresh food market.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a Captain Lawrence muffin top pint; bottle 09/19/19.
A: Pours a crystal clear, light copper color with modest head formation, ultimately leaving a less than one finger, off-white head, rim retention and very limited lacing.
S: Aromas of cloves, fig, orange, caramel, and banana predominate the nose.
T: Sweet, perhaps a bit too sweet. Flavors of cloves, fig, banana, Cointreau, and honey blend nicely. Bitterness light and drinks very cleanly.
M: Light to medium bodied with low effervescence.
O: This is a very nicely made American produced Tripel.

Pours a dark gold color with a white foamy head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of fruity, orange and a hint of banana. Tastes of alcohol, vanilla and orange. A hoppy bitterness at the end.
