Appears a dark amber/brown with a small off-white head that fades into a collar. Nice head retention.
Smell is of caramel, raisins, nuts, dough, dark fruit...Belgian and amazing.
Taste is of the same aromas and is Belgian abound! One of the best versions I've had from an American brewery.
Mouthfeel is smooth and slightly sweet. Gentle dough and Belgian yeast swirl around the palate.

Enjoyed at the brewpub. Thin off-white head that produced plenty of lacing sat atop this slightly hazed, amber beer. Nice aroma! Malty, raisin, dried fruits, and bready yeast. Strong bitterness with mild sweetness, plus plum, prune, bready malt and yeast. Medium bodied with lowish carbonation, fairly dry. A pretty good dubbel and one that I'd have again.

Dark brown ale with a small tan head. Has a sweet yeast aroma and an even sweeter flavor - though perhaps a little too sickly sweet. There’s also a hint of bitterness to add a touch of complexity, so overall it is okay. It just doesn't quite measure up to the style.

This is one of the nicest looking beers ever. Amazing translucent dark red ale, burnt orange when held to the light, seems to have some inner glow. Nice off white head that doesn't stick around as long as hoped. Aroma is of dried cherries and other dried fruit. Yeast profile in this beer is spot on Belgian/Abbey beer. However, I found it to be a bit cloying. Perhaps it could dry out a little more with longer fermentation. A bit hit in style points, unfortunately. Alcohol is evident, as is a sweet sasparilla undertone. Medium to low carbonation, which is okay, and is probably as a result of being dispensed into a growler. Perfect amount of hop bitterness (i.e. Amount there should be based on style + a smidgen more = perfect amount).
