Liquid Sunshine is a Bavarian style Hefewiezen. This beer has the traditional clove aroma with a touch of lemon peel, but there are no spices added. The unique flavor comes from a traditional yeast selection which has been used in Germany for centuries.

Got a growler at the brewery on 7/1, which happened to be the day of the release, and took it with us to have after hiking in Baxter State park.

This beer poured a cloudy pale yellow with a creamy long-lasting white head. The aroma was of banana and cloves, as you would expect, but leaning more toward subtle cloves and nice pilsner and wheat malt. The taste matched the aroma...the fruitiness (banana/clove) was there but not overpowering, providing a nice balance for a hefe.

Overall, a super easy drinking beer that could not have gone over better after spending about 8 hours hiking.

Plus, it was a fun brewery to stop at and the brewer, Tim, was great to visit with.

Beer pours a fairly cloudy slightly dirty yellow, with a decent head. I can see the carbonation sustaining the head, so it's not too cloudy. The nose is grain and banana, with some lemony orange notes as well.

The taste follows the smell, with the citrus coming out a bit more than I would expect. The taste is too watery for me. The carbonation doesn't make up for that, which also affects the taste, to me. The ending has what may be a bit of clove spice, but is watered down to an earthy, less distinct flavor.

This beer could be a nice refreshing summer brew, as it is fairly light. Not the Hefe's are meant to be heavy beers, but this is lighter at the cost of flavor, to me. Throw on top of that I am not a huge fan of the style, and I had to overall rate it just ok.
