Poured brownish red with no head. Thin white ring and skiff on surface. Dark in center.
Aroma: Caramel malt. Diacetyl.
Taste: Plum raisin and molasses with mossy hops.
Mouthfeel: Moderate, malty but watery.
Overall: Once I got the diacetyl, it was hard to notice other dimensions of character. Seems like it could be a drinkable beer.

Sampled on 11/22/13 from a 12 ounce bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and pored into a pilsner glass.

Pours a nice dark red amber in color with a very small off white head. Lots of bubbles from the high carbonation. Some spotty lacing was seen but not a lot. The aroma was of some malts with citrus and floral. The taste was close to the aroma but had a bitter aftertaste that lingered around for a bit. A tad on the 'watery' side. It's really not one of the better red ales I have had.

A: The beer is clear but dark reddish amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high beige colored head that died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sweet toasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of toasted malts and malt extracts with slight hints of associated sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied, a little thin and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: While this beer is easy to drink, the smell and taste aren't very interesting and seem like they could both use complexity and hops.

Poured a deep amber red with a thin ring of head that disappeared quickly. Standard for a red ale. Scents of toasted grain, a slight hint of roast malt and some toffee aromas. Pretty good, but nothing spectacular. The taste was mostly toasted malt, with some slight toffee and nutty flavors and a grain husk finish. There was also a slight sourness to it. Not bad, but I've had better red ales. Mouthfeel was medium bodied, with low carbonation. It drank well enough. Overall it's an okay red ale, though I'd go with Marble's any day.

a real generic American red ale, on the sweet side. this has a rich malty nose of dry red malts and sweet amber ones, the sugar being dominant, and a light toast on everything. tastes like it could have some oatmeal, fuller bodied and smooth in texture. copper and dusty flavors challenge the sweetness unsuccessfully, while the vibrant carbonation percolates on the tongue. the bright feel of this beer is a contrast to its robust sweetness, sort of an odd match, but with a little fuller fermentation, I think this beer would be quite good. for now, its an American red ive had before, and one that does very little for me as it stands. I like the kiss of honey flavor, and the touch of smoke, but the sweetness is just insurmountable for me. overall I really like the cause, but im only so so on the beer.

I like the Fireman's Redhead ale....its got a great malty caramel base that is lightly balance by hops. The beer pours a clear rich amber with thin white head that is not lacing much. The smell is mostly malty....with hints of sweetness. The mouthfeel is ligh to medium inbody with good carbontation. Overall its a nice session ale...not the best red I've ever had, but decent.

Medium amber and ruby color. Quick head with a ring of residual foam.

Toasty malt aroma and maybe a little earthen hop aroma.

Flavor is simple toasted malts with some bread crust and biscuit malt flavors. Maybe a hint of grassy hops for balance. Palate is sweet and a little crisp.

This is a simple, straight forward red ale. Not a bad session beer.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Starting the Fireman's series with the redhead (c'mon, like I'm the only guy goin' after the redhead, right?). This stuff pours a sunset amber-topaz topped by a finger of dusty off-cream foam. The nose comprises lightly-toasted biscuit, light orange zest, and a touch of vague greens way in the background. The taste brings in more of the same, with the biscuit, now covered in plenty of honey, taking center stage and chewing every bit of scenery it can find. The body is a very light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a pretty boring amber, one that goes way too far with the apparently lightly-toasted malts for its own good.
