12 oz. brown bottle is the last from a sixer my wife gifted to me. Poured into my Sam Adams "pint" glass. L727366001 02:28 is printed on the rear label. Just gotta love understandable freshness dating.
Appearance: deep copper bronze color with red highlights. Head is slight beige, creamy and recedes slowly leaving relatively sticky lacing. Carbonation dances off the bottom in a very refreshing looking beer.
Smell: bread crusts and malty sweetness with a caramel character. Ever so slight alcohol as it warms.
Taste: definite roasted maltiness and slight breadiness. Buttery toffee and alkaline water. Hop bitterness is present in taste even without any in the nose.
Mouthfeel: definite dryness and a bit overcarbonated. Relatively light body is too watery, but is well balanced.
Drinkability: light and refreshing with low alcohol and decent taste. Won't necessarily seek this out, but not a bad beer.
Serving type: bottle
