Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Guinness Pint glass

A: Pours a deep, ruddy red that is more on the transparent side with a cloudy cream head. The beer sticks to the side of the glass like it doesn't want to let go. Good presentation overall.

S: Upfront notes of sweet malts with dominant notes of toffee and tea leaves. A little bit roasty in the finish of the aroma with a certain metallic edge.

T: Moderately roasty and toffee sweetness in the beginning with a little bit of a iced-tea flavor residing in the finish. I can pick up on faint notes of toasted bread with a maple sweet edge. A decently malty brew that is pretty consistent from the sip through the aftertaste.

M: Light body (somewhat thin) with decent carbonation and a smooth, clean feel upon the palate. Overall, very agreeable but not very impressionable.

D: Easily drinkable as the from the start to finish, the beer is not exactly lacking in flavor but it is not bursting with it either. Overall a very agreeable and that solid beer that I cannot see be unpleasing even to the those with a less discerning palate.

Now sold with the modernized red label. Pours dark amber with a 2 finger off-white head. Decent carbonation with malty and slightly skunky aroma. Taste is metallic bitterness then turns malty and sweet. Medium mouthfeel with some slight grittiness? Finishes off typical of mass produced brews. Good but nothing stands out.
