Bought a 6 pack of these for St. Pattys Day on the recomendation of my friend.

Open the bottle and the smell is just not great, it made me cringe. The taste and the mouth feel were ok a little more bitter than I like but overall not bad. The after taste was very noticable not great but not horrible. Overall this was just an OK beer, it did not make me want to buy this beer again, but if this was the only recognizable option in a pinch I could drink and enjoy these.

AVOID on a summer day way to heavy, and way to dark.

Appearance: Had a nice amber/red color that was semi-transparent with a good 1-finger head.

Smell: Has a very nice aroma that is somewhat floral with hints of a hoppy scent.

Taste: This was a little more bland than expected, but it did have a good bitter aftertaste while remaining smooth and well-balanced. Good.

Mouthfeel: Has a bit of a watery feel to it, but not too thin to be a turn off.

Drinkability: Pretty good but I would rate higher if it wasn't for the thin watery mouthfeel. Certainly worth keeping in mind.

Checking out the inauguration on the TV in a bar near work, I was faced with limited choices. Decided to try this on-tap.

A: Dark clear reddish brown with visible carbonation. Small fizzy white head that retained a thin head throughout. Some spotty lacing.

S: Sourness that was a mix of malt and hops.

T: Earthy, roasted malt. A hint of sweetness. The telltale dry bitter hop finish. At times the finish and aftertaste seemed watery to me.

M: Very light body. Crisp but fizzy.

D: I guess it is drinkable in the sense that you could knock them back if you wanted to . I didn't find it enjoyable (I switched drinks) and I wouldn't go out of my way to have another. It was a monotone and diluted experience for me.

A: Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Abundant foamy white head with good retention formed with a modest pour, which diminished to a thin layer of bubbles after a time. The color was a medium to dark brown in color, clear in nature.

S: Mild scents of light malt and, perhaps, tobacco. No real hop smell on the nose.

T: Mildly malty, nicely carbonated, and relatively clean finish. Drinks very smoothly.

M&D: The mouthfeel for this is nearly perfect for the flavors on the palate as everything comes together for a very enjoyable brew. I don't know that I would call this one "balanced" in flavor as there is definitely little in the way of hop bitterness, but man, this stuff is easy drinking and highly enjoyable.

Served on tap at an Irish Pub.
Looks good. Rich red appearance, minimal head. Served cold. Allowed to warm.
First impression first sip was disappointing. Bland. Thin. Is that all there is? Nothing much I can say about this beer that was memorable.
An OK beer but nothing to seek out.

Presentation: Served at Doc Sullivan's, from tap and poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: It poured a dark reddish brown color with a thin white head that leaves nice rings of lace behind on the glass.

Smell: The aroma has a sweet malty nose with some mild hop notes.

Taste/Mouth feel: Its flavor has a creamy smooth malt character that is fairly sweet with some caramel notes and mild hops for balance. The carbonation is very mild making the texture creamy smooth. It has a medium body with a thin balanced finish.

Notes: Overall it's a very drinkable beer with a good body and flavor although not quite as deep as I would like to see. Still it's very drinkable.

alright, this household's everyday session beer is an Irish Red Ale (McNally's) so, i'll need to see how this one compares.

A: Pours a dark orange-copper color with an inch of fluffy head that diminishes into a slick that holds up along with with lacing. So far, so good.

S: It had a slight skunky wiff upon cracking the bottle, which had me worried a bit, surprisingly more hops smell than my everyday. to sum up, smells like proofed dough.

T: roasted malts, a bit nutty and earthen with a dry hop bite at the end. i like it, though i've had better. not as smooth tasting as some others.

M: overall, thin and fizzy with a thin entrance and exit, it somewhat bodies up a bit midway.

D: it's bitterness as compared to some others makes it not as drinkable as i prefer, though it does taste and feel above average, it's a bit harsh for only a 4.5 ABV.
