Appearance: Like most of the Guinness products, the beer is dark like motor oil. I would say it was a little more dark than normal Guinness. Slight brown light lining, and little to no head.
Smell: Strong notes of malt, and hints of chocolate and coffee, but stops before it gets too strong. So more than a normal Guinness, but not quite a java porter or anything like that.
Taste: Honestly this was the low point for me on this beer. I have talked to a lot of people that really enjoyed this beer and tout its taste. But, I found it to be a lesser form of a normal Guinness. Maybe its cause I normally drink Guinness form a tap, and this was a bottle. Nonetheless, I think it tastes like a watered down version of the original.
Mouthfeel: very filling, seems to have less carbonation than a normal Guinness, but then again anything coming out of the St. James brewery has its own odd mouthfeel.
Drinkability: At its current price, its not really worth it, just stick with a normal Guinness and skip this Anniversary batch.
