Had this on nitro-tap at a mediocre "Irish pub" in Long Beach. Served in a Kilkenny pint glass.
Pours a copper to red-brown color. I just love the look of the nitrogen working through a beer like this. Beautiful, silky off-white head, a finger and a half thick. Spectacular lacing on the glass. This beer looks so good.
Scents of malt, dry save a slight caramel aroma, mild bitterness. Fairly subdued aromas.
A malty sweetness mixed with caramel, which gives it a little bit of depth, but very soft flavors here. Some balancing from the bitter finish of the hops, but it's really gentle. The sweetness gently rises back to the surface in the follow.
Super-soft mouth feel, body is moderate, carbonation is there but gentle due to the nitro.
Fairly gentle, drinkable beer. I'm a sucker for just about anything decent on nitro-tap.
Serving type: nitro-tap
