The lager pours black with a moderate tan head that diminishes to skim, yet leaves lacing down the glass. The aroma is medium-low malts; roast, a bit of chocolate and a bit grainy. The flavor is pretty much the nose; medium-low roasted malt, a little bittersweet chocolate with a dry, crisp finish. The carbonation is medium-high and body medium-light. Overall the flavors are restrained yet still there, decent beer, ideal as a night long session beer with some character.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass

A- pours a very dark brown, nearly black, with a one finger tan head that fades away to nothingness rather quickly. Nothing like original Guinness, that's for sure...

S- nice aroma of roasted malts. Not overpowering or offputting at all

T- getting some sweetness, and mild roast...flavor is very light, not overwhelming

M- I didn't expect the heavenly texture of Guinness, but this is paper thin and watery. Very, very disappointing

O- it's not bad....it's not great....it's just there. Easy drinking.

Imagine a black, burnt malt flavored coors light. I love Guinness and their foreign extra, so I was somewhat dissatisfied with the flavor. It had a nice poor and a decent head for a lager. Tasted refreshing, but didn't taste as good as it looked.

I'm glad I still grabbed a six pack of foreign extra at the liquor store.

Poured into a euro pint glass. Pours a nice black color. Some head formed at the top but dissipated to a thin tan layer. Slight bit of lacing.

Aroma is lager-ish for sure. Slight bit of the roasted grains. not much else.

Taste is light and refreshing. Kinda like a bud with a bit of roasted malt for a bit of flavor. Nothing exciting about this.

Mouthfeel is dry and crisp. Nice carb.

Overall its an ok beer if you want an easy drinker with a bit more flavor than say a bud. But other than that nothing exciting.

Appearance - Didn't look at the beer, so really cannot comment

Smell - clean & fresh. Not overpowering.

Taste - Hops flavor, but not overpowering. Same for the malt.

I really like this beer. I usually prefer ales to lagers because they have more flavor, but this lager is an exception as it has plenty of flavor and no bitterness. It has a pleasant aftertaste. Smooth in the mouth it goes down easy.

I cannot comment on the appearance of the beer as I drank it out of the bottle.
