Dark brown, but not quite black in color, this beer has a tan head. Some streaks of red shine through the liquid when it's held to the light. The aroma has a touch of malt...a little roasty...dark chocolate and faint coffee. It's a clean smell, no fruit and little hops. The taste is equally clean and the mouthfeel is smooth. Some chocolate and toasted malt, together with a medium hop bitterness. Medium to light in body. It's not as flavorful as I would have liked. Nothing offensive or wrong with this beer...it's a clean and tasty black lager. Unfortunately, there's also nothing particularly exciting here.

Pours an almost opaque deep brown color with garnet highlights and a dense one inch cream head that lingers.

Roast malt, a touch of chocolate, and herbal hops comprise the aroma. There's a bit of grain and coffee grounds present.

Flavor is a bit watery, with roast malt and slightly acrid coffee leading into a somewhat bitter finish.

Body is fairly light, with moderate carbonation.

Overall, a somewhat weak brew. It is pretty one note, but it just seems watered down.

A: The beer is clear very dark amber in color and has the slightest hints of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that gradually died down, consistently leaving a thin head covering the surface and some rings of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: There are faint aromas of roasted malts in the nose.
T: The taste has some flavors of roasted malts along with notes of nuts and sweetness.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and slightly watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink but could use a fuller body and stronger aromas and flavors. The appearance is quite deceptive because you would think that this beer is a lot fuller-bodied than it actually is.

Upon pouring correctly it gives a whitish to light brown one finger head. When held to direct light you can see one stream of rising bubbles. The color is really dark brown. It laces nicely.

The aroma is faint and does not radiate from the glass. What smells there are would be faint roasted smells, maybe hops and watered down smells. Maybe barley as well. Its hard to tell as it doesn't show itself as lots of good beers do.

the taste is watered down flavors that the faint aromas show. It is refreshing as the flavors that are there are pleasant in a way. Its refreshing for someone who is not adventurous. I think this beer was made to market towards people who normally don't drink dark beers. This beer is less flavorful and aromatic than most dark beers even the draughts. The refreshing taste is all it really has.

The mouthfeel is low as it is flat and has little carbonation. It still is smooth however and is good for that reason.

Overall, we think this is a beer that was made to be mass produced and is not sticking to the roots they are known for. Its refreshing but has little more than that.
