Pour is cola in color with a thick off-white head. Nose is bland, but a bit roasty. A little bit sour, maybe? Really watery...it’s hard to really smell anything. The flavor is just as bad. It’s almost like drinking black water. Just a hint of roasted malt, a tinge of sourness, perhaps a light earthiness, but I’m really stretching for that one. Not sure what the appeal is here.

A- Dark brown/black with a thin latte coloured head ... kind of looks like a Coke but with a more persistent head. Large bubbles moving up sides. Bit of a reddish tinge when held to light.

S- Sweet, ribbon cane syrup like smell. A bit roasty. Some malt. Light lager yeast smell.

T- Kind of like a Guinness light. Sweeter and not as bitter. The roasty dark malt and cane syrup come through some, but the malt and yeast don't so much. Almost no flavor in swallow/aftertaste. Rather disappoiting given the nose, which I rather liked.

M- Thin. Very un-Guinness-like here. No real bitter feel, coating, anything.

O- Not too enjoyable. I'd certainly prefer it to a yellow fizzy beer, but when is that gonna be the choice I'm facing ... Glad I bought just a single.

Dark brown, but not quite black in color, this beer has a tan head. Some streaks of red shine through the liquid when it's held to the light. The aroma has a touch of malt...a little roasty...dark chocolate and faint coffee. It's a clean smell, no fruit and little hops. The taste is equally clean and the mouthfeel is smooth. Some chocolate and toasted malt, together with a medium hop bitterness. Medium to light in body. It's not as flavorful as I would have liked. Nothing offensive or wrong with this beer...it's a clean and tasty black lager. Unfortunately, there's also nothing particularly exciting here.
