A: The beer is clear very dark amber in color and has the slightest hints of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that gradually died down, consistently leaving a thin head covering the surface and some rings of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: There are faint aromas of roasted malts in the nose.
T: The taste has some flavors of roasted malts along with notes of nuts and sweetness.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and slightly watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink but could use a fuller body and stronger aromas and flavors. The appearance is quite deceptive because you would think that this beer is a lot fuller-bodied than it actually is.

Upon pouring correctly it gives a whitish to light brown one finger head. When held to direct light you can see one stream of rising bubbles. The color is really dark brown. It laces nicely.

The aroma is faint and does not radiate from the glass. What smells there are would be faint roasted smells, maybe hops and watered down smells. Maybe barley as well. Its hard to tell as it doesn't show itself as lots of good beers do.

the taste is watered down flavors that the faint aromas show. It is refreshing as the flavors that are there are pleasant in a way. Its refreshing for someone who is not adventurous. I think this beer was made to market towards people who normally don't drink dark beers. This beer is less flavorful and aromatic than most dark beers even the draughts. The refreshing taste is all it really has.

The mouthfeel is low as it is flat and has little carbonation. It still is smooth however and is good for that reason.

Overall, we think this is a beer that was made to be mass produced and is not sticking to the roots they are known for. Its refreshing but has little more than that.

12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a nice ¼ inch head the color of milky coffee. Body is a dense dark brown/black. Lacing fades quickly as you drink.

S: Smells a bit like Guinness Stout with the aroma of sweet malts. Not a terribly strong aroma, but once you get your nose in there, it comes out the other end in an Irish pub.

T: Initially, it’s very reminiscent of the Stout, but as you get into the beer, you notice the real differences here. A much crisper taste with almost a hint of cola. A nice, round flavor; very light. The same nice, toasty malts you’ve come to know and love. Warms up a bit on the aftertaste with just a hint of a bite.

MF: Fairly strong carbonation is the first thing I noticed. Light, crisp, goes down very easy. Body could definitely stand to be a little more robust, though; almost borders on watery texture.

D: Hate to keep comparing it to Guinness Stout, but it’s hard not to. I’ve always been a fan of black lagers, and this delivers on expectations. It’s a dark lager that tastes like Guinness. A little easier drinking if less satisfying take on the original. That said, very drinkable. Again, light, but with a nice flavor.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black. Thin tan head. Smells of brown sugar and dried prunes. Taste is clean lager yeast, followed by some mild cracker malt, and finishing with a tangy, slightly roasted coffee finish. Mouthfeel is average. Overall an OK beer, though a bit bland.

A: Extremely dark brown, virtually black. Forms a rather large, bubbly light tan head that leaves some minimal lacing on the way down.

S: A decent aroma of roasted malts with a hint of coffee.

T: Fairly thin flavor of roasted malts, biscuit, and a hint of smoke. Minimal grassy hops.

M: On the lighter side of medium, this one is really quite thin in body. Appropriate carbonation. Very mild bitterness.

O: Simplistic and thin, I guess this beer is supposed to be Guinness for people who don't actually like Guinness. Easily drinkable, but still not sure why I would want to.

Poured chilled into a Perfect Pint.

A=Very dark reddish brown...almost opaque. Poured a creamy three finger foamy ecru head.

S=Malted barley; molasses and a hint of nutmeg?

T=Rather bitter, plus a hint of skunkiness. Reminds me of some of the NA beers I've tried. Hop presence is minimal. Seemed to become more sour at the finish.

M=Nice body, but a bit lighter than anticipated. Still, quite drinkable; carbonation is minimal.

O=I'm not overly familiar with Euro Dark Lagers, but this was somewhat enjoyable. I wouldn't purchase a 6-pack of it, but might try it on tap or would choose it over most adjunct lagers, if I was in the mood for a more bitter beer.

Served in a pint glass.

Appearance: Body is thin and black, head is not heavy little thin if you ask me; coming off light tan and rising a lot off an inch off the body and dropped to nothing after picking up the glass.

Smell: Light but raw hops. It is very bland.

Taste: Little hops, and comes off lightly toasted.

Mouth: Medium carbonation, not so sticking after-taste...but somewhat consistently sharp.

Overall: Good but not great, you can and will find a whole lot better even from Guinness for the same price. Salud!
