This beer poured (into a pint glass) a dark brown with a 2 finger high light brown head. The head dissipated and left a very thin bubble film. The lacing was thick and clung to the glass. The initial smell of the beer was that of alcohol and a slight amount of malts. The initial taste was that of roasted malts. The finish was similar to that of a wheat beer and rather subtle, not enough of a bite as I was expecting, or what I remember from a previous Guinness I had had. The brew has a light body, which is what made it seem easier to drink down quickly.
What disappointed me about this beer was the weak smell, and the rather light body. Can't say I won't get it again, but I'd take a Sam Adams over this one.

When Guinness was first brewed in Canada, there was a noticeable drop in quality. It used to be my go-to stout, but after they stopped brewing it in Ireland for sale in USA, I stopped drinking it. I found it for sale at my local grocery store and decided to buy it in honor of St. Patricks day and I am glad to give a thumbs up review. It is much closer to the Ireland brewed version and is quite tasty. It has a superb balance of malt and hops and is full flavored but not overwhelming. Kudos to Diageo for bringing back the traditional flavor instead of some ill conceived adaptation to "American" taste.

Can poured into a pint glass
I love the cascade of taupe bubbles as they rise to the top of of this dark brown classic stout. A beautiful, thick creamy taupe lid caps the beer. Lacings on the side curtain the beer glass.
Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and sweetness
Smooth, sweet roasted malt taste. No bitter aftertaste but the linger of the malt.
The lack of carbonation is the surprise of this stout and makes it quite drinkable, glass, after glass.
What's there not to like about a well poured glass of Guinness Stout? Oh my goodness, my Guinness!

Not normally into higher end beers but this one is perfect. Head is thick and creamy. Goes down SMOOTH. It's served closer to room temp and tastes better that way. I've bought a 6 pack before but cold out of the fridge just isn't anywhere nearly as good. Best by far of all stouts I've ever had.
