Also had this brew in the nitro-bottle. If you're going to have this beer, go for the bottles. I have had this beer in the four pack of cans on several occasions now. I gotta say, for one of my favorite brews, Guinness in a can sucks. I feel like the taste from the can ruins this brew. Especially when served at the proper temperature, the metallic taste overpowers the good. Great beer just get it from a nitro-bottle.

Not normally into higher end beers but this one is perfect. Head is thick and creamy. Goes down SMOOTH. It's served closer to room temp and tastes better that way. I've bought a 6 pack before but cold out of the fridge just isn't anywhere nearly as good. Best by far of all stouts I've ever had.

One of my first loves. Pouring out of a bottle for the first time... ever?
Not quite impenetrably dark. Lovely head, strong lingering lace.
Subdued aromas of malt, caramel, chocolate.
Rich, layered taste. Malted barley, confidently bitter, substantial weight. Flavors leave fairly quickly, but a mild malty bitter remains minutes later.

A- pitch black, a finger thick head. Good lacing.
S- biggest note is roastiness. Coffee and barley are noticeable as well.
T- strong tasting beer. Not for those who don't like dark beers. Chocolate and roast stick around in the back of the throat. Bitterness is definitely present and works reasonably well with the malt and darker flavors.
M- big mouthfeel, quite carbed for a stout.
O- one of the better stouts I've had, however there are quite a few porters and dark ales that I would choose instead. Probably the best guinness-made product on the shelves.
