A - Regardless of variety, Gunniess is a beautiful beer. Great head, great lacing. Mild Carbonation.
S - Smell is rosted malt.
T - Fairly good, though bordering on too bitter. This is a harsh brew, unlike the smoother draught, similar to unsweeted black coffee. Once the brew begins to warm, hints of chocolate become apparent. It isn't the best tasting stout, but it definatly has a particular character that few stouts have.
M - Moderatly thick and definatly full bodied, Guinness's mouthfeel is a shining example of a true stout's consistancy.
D - Fair. While this is a good tasting beer having a great consistancy, the bitterness of the brew limits its drinkability.
In the past I despised Guinness. However, as my palatte began to expand, I've learned to enjoy it for what it is; a good tasting, widely available stout that acts as a reliable standby. It is a good beer, and one of the most well known stouts that exist today.

When Guinness was first brewed in Canada, there was a noticeable drop in quality. It used to be my go-to stout, but after they stopped brewing it in Ireland for sale in USA, I stopped drinking it. I found it for sale at my local grocery store and decided to buy it in honor of St. Patricks day and I am glad to give a thumbs up review. It is much closer to the Ireland brewed version and is quite tasty. It has a superb balance of malt and hops and is full flavored but not overwhelming. Kudos to Diageo for bringing back the traditional flavor instead of some ill conceived adaptation to "American" taste.

Can poured into a pint glass
I love the cascade of taupe bubbles as they rise to the top of of this dark brown classic stout. A beautiful, thick creamy taupe lid caps the beer. Lacings on the side curtain the beer glass.
Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and sweetness
Smooth, sweet roasted malt taste. No bitter aftertaste but the linger of the malt.
The lack of carbonation is the surprise of this stout and makes it quite drinkable, glass, after glass.
What's there not to like about a well poured glass of Guinness Stout? Oh my goodness, my Guinness!

Not normally into higher end beers but this one is perfect. Head is thick and creamy. Goes down SMOOTH. It's served closer to room temp and tastes better that way. I've bought a 6 pack before but cold out of the fridge just isn't anywhere nearly as good. Best by far of all stouts I've ever had.
