Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip glass.
A - pours an oily black. No transparency here. With an agressive pour into the glass, I get about a two finger tan head. Speckly lacing on the glass as it goes down. Retains a bit of foam on the surface of the liquid all the way through.
S - roasted coffee and milk chocolate mixed w/ caramel malts. Fairly sweet aroma - not as bitter as I was expecting. It's quite delicate actually.
T - more bitter than the aroma. The roasted coffee and bitter chocolate flavors stand out more here. Dry on the finish. A bit of roasted coffee aftertaste. Not much more to say - those flavors are there, but none really jump out at me in a positive way. They're just kind of there. Not bad, but not great either.
M - medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
O - overall, better than Guiness Draught if I recall correctly. Nothing spectacular, but would work in a pinch.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2014! Guinness is a must drink each year in March. Gotta love the dark bold flavor and smooth taste of this beer. Not something I can drink frequently, but one every once in awhile is perfect.
A: black color with 1-2 inch white head
S: basic stout stench
T: smooth drinkable flavor; great with fish and chips
M: thick and creamy
O: hard to berate this beer. It's a classic!

When Guinness was first brewed in Canada, there was a noticeable drop in quality. It used to be my go-to stout, but after they stopped brewing it in Ireland for sale in USA, I stopped drinking it. I found it for sale at my local grocery store and decided to buy it in honor of St. Patricks day and I am glad to give a thumbs up review. It is much closer to the Ireland brewed version and is quite tasty. It has a superb balance of malt and hops and is full flavored but not overwhelming. Kudos to Diageo for bringing back the traditional flavor instead of some ill conceived adaptation to "American" taste.

Can poured into a pint glass
I love the cascade of taupe bubbles as they rise to the top of of this dark brown classic stout. A beautiful, thick creamy taupe lid caps the beer. Lacings on the side curtain the beer glass.
Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and sweetness
Smooth, sweet roasted malt taste. No bitter aftertaste but the linger of the malt.
The lack of carbonation is the surprise of this stout and makes it quite drinkable, glass, after glass.
What's there not to like about a well poured glass of Guinness Stout? Oh my goodness, my Guinness!
