This is (obviously) the extra cold variant of Harp lager. It seems that these variants are very popular in the U.K., but you'll never find one in Ireland. I had this at Morrison's pub in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The following review is from notes.
Served on draught into a Harp Ice Cold pint glass (yes, the variant got its own pint glass).
A: Hazy gold colour with a one finger head of fair thickness.
Sm: Clean barley; some hops.
T: Nice barley. Some hops. Matches the nose. Balanced but unambitious. Simple. A clean lager to appease Irish fans of the style, but nothing special. Interesting finish.
Mf: Crisp on the finish. As coarse as a lger ought to be; a bit chewy in a pleasant way.
Dr: At 3.30 pound, better brews can be had. Worth a try for either lager fanatics or Irish beer enthusiasts like me. Simple but effective.
Serving type: on-tap
