Midnight black and perfectly opaque. Huge whole wheat colored head which will not give up. Forms a silky lace line with every sip. Beautiful.
Big burnt charcoal aroma. Dark, roasted and bold as hell! Creamy hints also. Awesome!
Roasted flavor is powerful with burnt toast and charcoal flavor. Bold coffee and baker's chocolate bitterness. Smoked maple wood and tobacco. Herbal, floral hops are assertive but overpowered by the roasted barley. Delivers a massively bitter palate assault that is actually very satisfying in my opinion. Underlying cherry sweetness mid-drink adds an interesting touch. The creamy lingering finish reminds me I'm drinking Guinness.
Medium to full-bodied with some spritzy carbonation to bring the bitterness to the palate. Creamy mid-drink and dry in the end.
Wow! This is one hell of a stout. Highly complex and delicious. A must try.
