Poured from bottle to an imperial pint. The "best before" didn't get stamped on this bottle.
A: I don't know what else you'd want out of a stout in the looks department. Mondo cocoa head with excellent retention and lacing. Pours nearly pitch black. Just a touch of coffee color at the bottom of the pint glass when you hold it inches from a light.
S: Roasted barley, caramel, and Irish whiskey.
T: Roasted barley, milk caramel, rich malt, and a hops profile throughout. A bitter and dry finish. Extremely pleasant and well-balanced.
M: Full-bodied and rich without being chunky. A nice hops bitterness leads to a dry finish that doesn't go overboard. The 7.5% ABV is masked very well.
O: Now, THIS is a Guinness. This is the real deal. Glad this is available in the U.S. now, had been keeping an eye out for it and there it was today at the Hy-Vee. This will be a staple in my fridge.
