Appearance: Let's face it...few beers look better than a 'draft' pint of Guinness. The creamy tan head, the deep black body, and sharp line between them...the classic, and perfect, look. A sight to behold...
Smell: Roasted grain, perhaps a touch of coffee, and nothing else. Remarkably average in it's aroma.
Taste: Roasted grain flavor with the smallest sour tang. The draft can version, in my opinion, doesn't come close to a real draft, as I think it sacrifices flavor for that perfect body.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, with a 'thin-but-somehow-creamy' mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Combine the laid-back flavor of this serving, the fantastic body, and the low alcohol content, and you have a good session beer.
While there are many stouts out there now that put Guinness (any version) to shame, it's still a classic worth re-visiting over and over... If you're going to drink one, do it right and get it straight from the tap.
Serving type: nitro-can
