You know, maybe I just drank too much of this in college and have been devoting my time to other stouts since, but I just can't get back into this beer anymore.
The beauty of the pour is still a sight to see. Pouring a midnight black color with one of the most beautiful heads a beer could ever posses.
The smell and the taste match each other. Toffee/caramel/chocolate/coffee...you name it, it is the atypical stout. I think the reason I just can't get back into it is the bitterness at the end of the Guinness that is so common. The overly roasted flavor that leaves that lingering bitter malt flavor on my tongue. Ugh! Oh how I long to love that taste again.
The mouthfeel is a clean frothy smooth pull that is reminiscent of a great cup of espresso.
It's drinkability is average for me. I am just waiting to try one in Ireland, as I feel I will learn to appreciate it once again. For right now, a good pour of this brew is terribly hard to find.

Purchased from one of the local cigar lounges.
A: Dark brown with good head and retention.
S: Malt forward with a bit of coffee and sweetness.
T: Same as the smell.
M: Moderate carbonation and it's somewhat watery.
O: Not bad but I'm not very impressed with the feel.
