An obvious classic.
Appearance: good looking beer. Dark black body with ruby edges and an impenetrable cream white head.
Smell: hints of coffee and barley.
Taste: coffee, roasted malt, and barley flavours with a bitter, charred aftertaste. Subtle fruity notes and mild hops are also apparent. Quaffable.
Mouthfeel: a creamy-silky palate upfront; light and smooth body with a dry, bitter finish.
Drinkability: the model mainstream stout. I always wonder how Guinness maintains its quality despite being a multinational macro. A lovely stout no matter where you try it.
Serving type: on-tap

Appearance: Looks amazing. Thick creamy tan head that lasts forever. Appears black in the glass but slightly translucent with some red noted as well. Unfortunately, looks can be decieving.
Smell: Roasted malt, but its very mild and I'm not picking up much else.
Taste: Same as the nose. Roasted malt flavor, slightly bittersweet, but zero hops.
Mouthfeel: How can a beer that looks so good in the glass be so watery? Thin and boring.
Overall: I'll get this once and a while if there's no other options on tap, because this is still better than the BMC's of the world. Not by much though. I would like to try this in Ireland sometime to compare.
Serving type: nitro-can
