This is one of my starter beers that has a little bit of flavor. The beer pours a nice golden color with a nice white head. The smell has a bit of hop and malt. The taste is pretty enjoyable with a decent amount of hops. The mouthfeel is nice with a decent amount of carbonation. Overall this beer is decent, but not great. It is not a bad session beer and I would drink it again if it was at a party or on sale.

Appearance: Clear Crystal Straw, full white head

Smell: Smooth hop aroma, slight maltiness on the nose

Taste: Decent smooth bitterness from the hops. Very crisp. Not too much else going on in the taste

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation, light bodied

Overall: Well, its just okay. Honestly, there is very little manufested taste to be had. However, and I say this assuringly, I would take Harp over any Big Three lager/pilsner ANY day of the week. It is very refreshing and drinkable, highly recommended for celebration/tailgating beer. Cheers

A- A meduim yellow color with a thin head
S- Very fragrant aroma of grains and hops
T- Crisp and clean with a nice touch of hops
M- Very drinkable like an adjunct lager
O- This beer looks and smells like an adjunct lager but has the taste and mouthfeel of a Czech pilsner to me. Very refreshing and I would recommend this beer to others. Definitely fits the bill for when you want something light and refreshing

I first drank Harp in Dublin when I was fourteen and visiting relatives. (Legal in that time and place).

It's not as good as I recall, (neither are anything my Grandfather drank that I've revisited!) but not bad.

Pours a golden color, producing a respectable head, that lingers well.Malty scent for such a clear beer, liked the malts dominating the hops in this beer. No aftertaste, smooth and refreshing! I may mix this with a Guinness, instead of Bass, for my next Black&Tan.

A - a strong yellow color with a pretty exclusively white head, nothing fabulous but pretty

S - a bit less grain/wheat smell than most lagers, a slight hint of some fruitiness

T - it's a tasty lager but still nothing super special, a nice clean and crisp finish though

O - friend of mine brought this to a bachelors party, it wasn't bad but it was the last pack of beer to be finished

Very nice bold golden color, producing a respectable top, even with a bad pour. Continued to bubble and come alive as it sat waiting to be drunk. Surprising me again with a malty robust odor for such a clear golden beer, and the taste was even better. Loved the malts dominating the hops in this beer. No after taste, smooth thirst quinching experience and even better with a barbeque sandwich!

Poured from a bottle into a 12oz glass and enjoyed the nice golden color. A little paler looking then other lagers I`ve had, but nice nontheless.
Started with a nice head that left decent lacing that clung to my glass.

Aroma was a nice fruity scent, and quite pleasant.

The taste is malty, but not overpowering. Finshed clean with subtle hops in the finish.

Mouthfeel was delightful rather creamy.

A little overpriced, but what do you expect from an import?

I enjoyed it and recommend giving it a try!!

Pours a clear gold with carbonation bubbles noticeable. There's about 1/2" of creamy white head with good retention. Smells musty and has that typical skunky euro pale lager smell but it's toned down here. Taste is grainy and malty with a moderate hop character, in my opinion, akin to a pilsner. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean with decent carbonation.

For a euro pale lager this one isn't bad.

A - Pour out clear medium gold in color. The head is white with above average retention. Also seeing some lacing on this. Looks better than anticipated.

S - Light grains and grass in the nose along with distant hops. Has a sort of lemon zest about it and a metallic twang as well.

T - Mostly malty and a bit sweet. It does have balance. There is a decent hop bitterness and some nice floral notes that keep it interesting enough.

M - Light bodied and watery. Carbonation is good but the overall mouth feel could use more volume.

O - Not bad. A little better than expected. I might revisit this beer again in the future. Maybe by a single or two but I doubt I would buy a six pack.

Clear and pretty pale, lacing was a bit better than the head but it wasn't bad to look at.

Smelled a bit grainy, bready, with a bit of hops and some citrus and just a touch of funkiness.

Taste was a bit more pronounced than the smell, grainy and bready with more funk than I expected.

Feel wasn't bad, light bodied and good carbonation made for a fairly refreshing and decent brew.

Overall it's average in my book.

Picked up a 6 pack on sale at the grocery store because I liked the bottles and thought they would be nice for bottling homebrew. I also really enjoy Guinness so I wanted to see what else the brewery was cranking out.

A - Pale straw in color with a decent fizzy white head that didn't stay around too long but leaves a super thin disc on top.

S - Very Euro Lager here. Grassy and a bit skunky smelling. Can detect some faint hops.

T - Similar to the smell. Bready and harsh in the beginning but I must say it has a pretty good hop profile if you can get over the high carbonation and rude skunkiness.

M - Overcarbonated. Very harsh on the mouth with the harsh flavors present.

O - The six pack grew on me a little bit. When I first tasted it, I thought it was just a big waste of money and I was going to pawn them off to my dad or party guests or something. I ended up liking them more as I drank them mostly because there actually are some hops and bitterness in the finish that you don't get with most other Euro Lagers.

Appearance: pale yellow gold with 1 finger ivory white head, nice lacing.

aroma is sour and musty

mouthfeel ok

taste: grainy with a sour metallic aftertaste.

Notes: trainwreck of a beer. As bad as any AAL from BMC.

A: half finger head. Dissipates rapidly. No lacing really. Straw with golden hues.

S: mild malt and bready

T: Breads and grain. Lemon notes. Typical bitter end of a lager. No hops to speak of.

M: light bodied, mild to moderate carbonation.

Overall: Decent amount of flavor for a lager.

The beer pours a light yellow color with a large white head. The aroma is about what I expected - full of grain with a little bit of bread and a tad bit of grass from the hops. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of grain and not too much else. There is the slightest amount of bitterness from the grassy hops but the beer is pretty sweet and malty. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Imported from ratebeer.com - JUL 20, 2008

On tap at the Elephant & Castle in San Diego.

Pours a pale, golden color with dissipating head that leaves lacing around the glass. Smells of hops, I wouldn’t call it "fruity." It tasted of hops, very slight sweetness, followed by a little malt presence and a dry, crisp, slightly bitter finish. Not a fan of pale lagers, and this didn’t change my opinion, though it is a lot better than most mass-produced American lagers.

Pours light yellow. Clear. Abundant foamy head that settles down nicely. The taste contains some corny notes similar to American Adjunct Lagers but better. There is a premium quality that sets it apart and makes it better than average.
A very good choice for a summer session beer over a bbq'd hamburger.
A refreshing and enjoyable beer.

Poured on tap into a shaker pint at Kitty O'Shea's Arlington VA. Lord knows I've had my share of Harp.

Well had plenty of harp and what's the deal? Looks like a typical Pale lager. Golden yellow clear body, served with no head barely of an off white collar. Pretty basic, nothing to get excited about looks alright.

Smell is actually a little hoppy and toasty. Small malted it seems but a nice little toasty bread action as small as it is. Pretty good.

Taste though is surprisingly adjunct corny like sweet. Crispness in the palate but a bit gassy with some carbonation. There is a slight mild bready baked finish but otherwise kind surprised by the huge sweetness.

Overall it's alright but probably one to pass on I think from now on.

Time to help out my old man clear out the basement fridge of the beer leftover from the past couple of family gatherings.

Poured this out of a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint glass.

A) It was a shiny golden color with a little bit of white head that was gone in a hurry.

S) Mostly grains and mild sweet malt. There is not much in the way of aromatics with this one.

T) Pretty much a plain Jane here. It's got an earthy, grainy flavor, with a slightly bitter finish.

M) It's light and pretty crisp. The carbonation is pretty high and it's a bit dry at the end.

O) This is not terrible by any means, but if I'm drinking a lager
produced in mass quantities, give me a PBR over this one.

Poured a huge 4" white head which lasted awhile. Pale clear straw yellow color. Smells of grass and just barely the beginning of skunking. Taste is any standard BMC with corn and a short finish. Basically this is the Guinness' version of mainstream lagers probably with enough artificially jacked up carbonation to appear a step up.

Poured from a 12oz bottle to a glass.

Pours a solid straw yellow with a 2 finger head that turns to a lace quick with some good retention. A Earthy, grainy, sweet malt, and faint citrus. Grainy maltiness on the tongue, sour, lemon soap bitter on the finish. Light in the mouth, crisp, enjoyable aftertaste, light bodied. Overall, this beer is decent, its got its sense of drinkability. Very bland for its style moving it to the back of the line when reaching for a Euro Lager.

It was blazing hot in the San Fernando valley this 4th of July weekend, and the light lagers, Hefe's, Witbiers, were flowing. This was one such beer.

A: Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Bruery tulip. The beer pours a darker shade of yellow, with a generous three inches of fizzy white head that quickly settles.

S: Very minimal scents of grass/hops. Some very light malt in the background.

T: Some flavors of bread, grain, hay, and dried out hops. Mild bitterness, and a dry finish.

M: Light body, semi-crisp, medium carbonation.

O: Have not had this beer in a few years, and I haven't been missing much. Pretty standard mass produced lager. Decent ice cold on a hot day, but drink it quickly, since there is not much to savor. When I visited Ireland in late February last year, this beer was not as prevalent as I had expected it to be. Not much better locally there either from what I recall, but it was a change of pace from Guinness Draught, or a Bulmers.

So Harp lager poured out as a clear golden yellow color with a pretty nice looking head on it. The lacing isn't the best in the world but there is some on the glass. The smell of fresh grains with a earthy sweetness on the nose. The flavor is nice in my opinion, I find this beer to be one very good lager. The mouthfeel is light, crisp and refreshing. Overall I enjoy this beer from time to time and I find it to be a great social drinking brew.

I see why this recipe is a solid old keeper. Its simple and well balanced.

Its a pale golden color with a frothy white head that fades fast but leaves a creamy lace behind.

The smell is of grainy malt, grass, and a touch of lemon. Some earthy musk, and a bit of skunk.

The taste is well balanced between earthy grains, and earthy hops. Some grassy elements and a touch of tart. Hints of skunk and lemon.

Crisp, thin and overly carbonated. Mass produced beer.

Its ok and easy to drink on a hot day.

I got have had this one a couple times. once on tap, and as usual it's much better on tap.
I am pouring from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. different label than the one pictured.

A-i would describe the color of this beer as a golden yellow. not dark, but not really yellow. looks pretty decent. about a 1in head. faded fairly quick.

S-smells of a little wheat, and a little hops. not really strong in either. but i do think it smells pretty good in general.

T-definitly taste some wheat. a little hops. not overpowering hops. wheat tastes a bit stronger. seems like a fairly even balance of the two though leaning towards the wheat. I do enjoy this though. finishes with a wheat that has a little hop bite to it.

M-a bit doughy but not bad. very smooth. not an overpowering carbonation. again seems pretty balanced.

O- i really do enjoy this beer. this is one that i can just sit down and enjoy. very balanced. not to much of anything. not the best but definitly a good well rounded beer.

I wouldn't have ever given this beer a second thought if I hadn't noticed its popularity when I started working at a liquor store. People seem to love this beer, so I figure it's worth a try.

It pours a nice pale golden colour. It has a bit more colour than a normal pale lager, and thus looks a fair bit more appetizing. I'm also impressed with the head. It settles out to about one centimeter and is quite foamy. There is lots of carbonation bubbling up to the the top.

The aroma is faint and slightly hoppy. The malty notes are nice, and not especially grainy.

This beer has a really clean taste. It is quite hoppy for the style, which is nice. There are some slight malty notes, but the hops are the most prevalent aspect of the flavour. It's a nice change from any other lager, and definitely refreshing but with a bit of bite too.
