appearance - Nice golden color with short foamy head

smell - Sweet malt, hops

mouthfeel - Medium body, lightly carbonated

drinkability - Easy to drink beer, Lots of flavor, was impressing for a large production beer. First time I have tried this though I see it everywhere. I will drink it more often.

Pours golden with a good amount of head minor lacings.

Aroma is mild hops, sweet malts.

Taste is quite hoppy for a lager with plenty of sweet malts to create a balanced taste. Slight bitter, dry finish.

Mouthfeel is better than average, not too watery.

Drinkability is superb. Give me another, please.

Brewed in Canada.

Pours brite and crystal clear with a huge white cloud of head. This screams commercial filtered beer, but really looks nice and inviting.

Smells malty, toasty and grainy with a light floral/fruity hop nose; really nothing specific, but it does have a decent aromatic presence.

Taste is malty and very grainy yet clean with moderate fruity hop flavour and a light bitterness on the finish. Nothing really stands out, but it is well balanced and actually very flavourful.

This is a silky beer; very smooth, dry, soft and highly drinkable. Actually a very nice, clean malt lager and an excellent alternative to drinking the usual suspects of the BMC world. Clean, light, balanced and refreshing.

Purchased from Underdog Bar and Grille in Harrisburg.

A- pours a a clear pale golden yellow. A nice 3 finger head overflows my pint glass. The head is very frothy as well. Leaves hills oflace in my beer.

S- pale and malty. wheaty as well. Not too much to report on smell.

T- Tastes bland and dry malty. A pale bitter after taste hits as well. Not too flavorful and tastes like outdated malts.

M- fresh crisp and sour malt

D- looks easy to put down but it is a lil rough. Not smooth and the after taste makes it hard.

Poured a one finger head from a twelve ounce bottle into a glass. A nice golden color to it. As I check my notes I realize I have made no notes regarding the aroma. The lacing held nicely to the glass as I drank it down. Bitter hop taste with a nice crisp finish. Honestly a little less than I remember from drinking this beer years ago. Don't get me wrong, this beer is much superior to BMC but inferior to the american craft beers in general. Times have changed I suppose.

330ml bottle from a local Centra... i hadn't had this in years so thought i'd try a bottle again....

Poured a pale straw yellow colour... White head poured pretty big and foamy then faded to thin layer... decent amount of carbonation.... very little lacing...

Aroma - Pretty standard macro stuff.... sweetcorn notes, rice, some light biscuity maltiness, vanilla notes, some metallic hints, lemony, no real hops - just a slight pepperiness...

Taste - Light biscuity malts, creamy, some faint grapefruit / lemon notes, definite sweetcorn and boiled rice, metallic traces, some very very light hops just about coming through... pretty inoffensive but bland...

Feel - Pretty smooth and creamy. Light body.... pretty drinkable when really cold....

Overall - A standard macro lager - not really much more to say....

12-oz botle poured into a pilsner glass.

A = Medium golden yellow, large frothy white head with fair retention, medium lacing left on glass as it recedes. Lots of carbonation with a mixture of large and small bubbles.

S = Very light notes of bananas, lemons and wet fresh grains.

T = Light flavors of fresh grains and citrus, slight wet cardboard shows up mid-palate and continues into the finish though. The taste started off good for a nice refreshing light lager but then slipped into a mundane, clumsy flavor by the end.

M = Light bodied, fair mouthcoating, carbonation stings a little too much.

D = This is drinkable, but there are better light lagers out there to choose from. Just too non-descript to merit a recommendation.

Poured an excellent clear straw color with decend head, although very little lacing. Very nice scent, a nice clean and crisp matliness with a little hint of spice. Great taste for a macro-Euro-lager, excellent balance with great maltiness and a slight hoppy aftertaste. Very smooth.

the appearance is golden with a small head. smell is a bit grainy and froral. taste - the grainyness realy comes out, a just an ever so slight bitterness. mouthfeel is decent, once again a little grainy. i would rather a have a lighter cleaner beer when im looking for a euro lager.

Bottle poured into mug.

A - Very pale clear yellow with almost no head. Very little lacing.

S - Hints of grain but very weak aroma.

T - Weak grainy taste. Light bitterness as well, but very weak flavors overall.

M/D - Good carbonation but very thin beer. Just not much to it.

Served in a standard pint glass.

A - Arrived with a very thing bit of head that dissipated fairly quickly. Pale yellow coloration, spotted lacing. Average for style I suppose.

S - A bit earthy, mild grain nose with a slight hop tinge.

T - Sweet, grainy, faint metallic backing and a grass hop tinge. Comparable to others I've experienced within this style.

M - Light bodied, decent carbonation, mildly dry finish, no residues or odd aftertastes.

D - Pretty decent, I had no problem having a few pints of this with my dinner, if you like euro pales this one is certainly worth trying.

A - Poured out a bright golden hue with a thick, foamy, off-white head that left small traces of lace.

S - It smelled of malt and grains. It had a subtle floral/hoppy aroma, too.

T - It tasted of light caramel malt. It had some nice spice and hop flavors, too.

M - It was crisp and smooth. A light to medium-bodied beer.

D - This is a very good tasting lager. Certainly appropriate for a St. Patty's celebration.

Pours a clear gold with sudsy white head which quickly fades to a thin layer. Spotty lacing. Smell: grain, noble hops, vegetative off aroma. Taste: grain, husk, sweet pale malt, noble hops for balance. Mouthfeel: light bodied, finishes sweet with a bit of hop bitterness. Decent for the style, refreshing, but nothing special.

Settled with a dark gold appearance with some amber coloring to it. It also had a pretty good head with some lacing to it. Some hops and spices were sensed as primary aromas from the drink. The taste was bittersweet with its assortment of grain and hop flavors. It did have a good crispness to it, but it suffered from a bit of watery texture. Overall, it is pretty decent.

Pours a golden orange w/nice head and light lacing.
Aroma is of grain, light hops, and creamy malt. Tastes of same.
Mouthfeel is on lighter side w/moderate carbonation. It is slightly creamy, and quite smooth, which makes you feel like you're drinking a heavier beer than it actually is.
Very drinkable. Overall character is mild, but it is simple, and good.

Top o' the evenin' to ya! Happy St. Paddy's...

Clear light golden body with a lot of effervescence not unlike an American light lager or a pilsen. But the head foretells something higher on the drink chain. Substantial and almost rocky head that grabs the glass about all the way down. Fresh looking for an overseas import.

Musty and grainy. Catching some unexpected yeast. Slight "import skunk" that in this case is not too bad. Picks up some white wine smell halfway down.

Tastes at first like a sweeter, higher quality American. Refreshing, yet has some malt backbone. Not much hop, but the tad we have is floral. Sweetens as it warms. Light bodied, and seems to get flat quickly. Even so, the very last sips actually get tastier. Much better than green beer.

This is a good beer. Of course I had to have a bottle or six on st. pats day. Because dont forget everyone is Irish today. It was a very light gold color with a minimal head. Lacing was pretty good. It was just a bit watery with a mild hoppy flavor. I did however enjoy this beer and I will again too.

Small capped bottle, poured into a pint.

Clear, light golden with an average white head, some retention, little lacing. Aroma is faint, some malts, very little hops but everything so faint that it is hard to describe.
Thin on the palate, taste is watered down, some breadiness, a hint of grassy hops.
Mediocre.

Pours as a lovely golden color with plenty of carbonation and a white head that actually sticks around and laces pretty well for being such a light head.

Smells like an average lager with some notes of malt, some grass hops, and some cream.

Tastes pretty much like cream malts, hops, and seems to have a perfect mix of flavors but they're all subtle. Taste is a bit light but not as light as some other lagers. Still has a pretty substantial body.

Mouthfeel is outstanding for a lager and even has a hint of creaminess that sets it apart. Overall, outstanding mouthfeel - despite its appearance, it feels like a heavier beer at times.

Drinkability is quite exceptional as you get the feel of drinking a heavier beer with the crispiness and cleanliness of a lager. It's a perfect session beer and also perfect to drink when you don't want the high ABV hit but want the flavor / sensation of a beer with a higher ABV than the puny ABV Harp has.

On-tap at the Blue Trout Grill 3/1/08

This one is clear, pale gold color, mucho bubbles and a classic all-white head that dissipates slow and is moderately sticky with minor lacing. It's a bit thin looking but pretty much right on.

I'm getting the classic herbal, yeatstiness, grassy green hops and a cream-scented malt. Not overly aromatic.

This is a crisp, clean, lively lager with good balance of sour yeastiness, thin but effective creamy flavored malt, green-grassy hops...very herbal and garden-greens effect. The body is a bit thin, even for the style and the flavor is not as complex as it could be, but it's tastier on-tap than from the bottle.

I love a good lager, but this one is just a bit under-par for my taste.

Hrm, not much smell to be had.

Taste is refreshing, but unremarkable. Dominant flavor seems to be grain? with an alcohol finish. It's not unpleasant, but doesn't really stand out either.

Mouthfeel is not bad, and holds together all right.

Overall, probably not something I'll be going back to. I'm somewhat surprised by this, given Guiness's reputation, I expected a little more.

This is a disappointing, boring lager that seems to take more inspiration from American lagers than from Euro ones. The taste had virtually no flavor until the finish, which had a mediocre flavor at best. I expected better given that this is from Guinness.

I had this for the first time in quite a while last week at reading group, and it made me yearn for the Sam Adams Winter Lager I brought to the session. A finger of rapidly disappearing white froth tops this dark amber. The nose is fleeting, with a dash of malt and overtures toward hops, all of which should be more pronounced. The taste is a little more complex than the nose hints, with a slightly bitter bite creeping in to make this slightly better than ordinary. Yet a somewhat flat texture penalizes Harp, with decent creaminess in struggle with a definite lack of effervescence.

OK, but nothing special; a fairly decent standard European lager.
