This beer comes in the new Guinness winter seasonal mixed 12 pack. I found this today at Pop & Kork in Ludlow, MA.
Pours a dark, clear, amber color. Fast, active visible carbonation. Decent sized off white head that fades quickly to a thin film over the top of the beer.
The smell is very faint. Slight toasted caramel, slight maltyness, thats about it. Not a bad scent, just very hard to detect.
Taste is of sweet caramel malts, touch of vanilla, hint of hops and a slight bitterness comes in at the end.
Medium body. Mouthfeel is very smooth. Carbonation feels much lower than I thought it was going to be.
Overall this isnt a bad beer but I wouldnt recommend buying the whole 12 pack just to try it. Its good, Im glad I got to try it (to satisfy my curiosity if nothing more) but next time I'll probably just buy the classic guinness draught.
