Sold as a component of a Guinness sampler pack. It seemed to be a filler for the very good Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. Bland taste, aroma and no body. The color was a very muted brown; it looked like it was trying to be a dark beer but just couldn't make it.

From notes 1/31/13: Pours a clear garnet brown producing 1.5 fingers of frothy, somewhat lasting, beige head that leaves a thin wash of lacing. Aroma is slightly sour/acidic, roast, caramel, molasses, fruity and a nutty note with little sweetness. Taste is roast, toffee, burnt nuts, slightly sour with a faint mineral hint. Finish and aftertaste are a dry lightly astringent roast. Mouthfeel is light bodied and creamy with soft spicy carbonation. Perhaps this bottle is old or has been mishandled. It certainly seems a little "off".

Clear brown colored ale with a glass filling tan colored head.
Smells fruity. Scents of toffee, butter and caramel. faint scent of leather.
Starts out tasting of caramel and toffee. Mild bitterness. Fruity taste with a bit of leather. Faint taste of leaf tobacco.
Mouthfeel is good.
Overall an OK ale. Not something to rave about but I might buy again at a Baseball game if nothing better was available.

A nice smooth brew with not too much pumpkin and spices.

12 oz can, poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Pours a beautiful, clear, yet deep, dark, amber/mahogany color with a finger and a half of white-colored head that quickly dissolved into a thin lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.
Aroma: Nice aromas of bready, biscuit-like toasted malt, imparting aromas of freshly baked French baguettes and English muffins, as well as aromas of caramel and toffee, a touch of black pepper and spices of nutmeg, ginger and clove. Smells really good and inviting.
Taste: Very, very, good! Lots of bready, biscuit-like toasted malt, up front, followed by lots of caramel and toffee-like sweetness and touches of the aforementioned spices of black pepper, nutmeg and ginger. Delicious!
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and extremely smooth and creamy, as there is no carbonation what-so-ever. With an ABV of 5.6%, there is no alcohol on the palate.
Overall: This is a very good, very malty, crushable session-beer. I liked it quite a bit!
