A: Pours a brownish-ruby color with the classic cascade of nitrogen bubbles. Crimson around the edges when held up to light. About two fingers of creamy, thick, khaki-colored foam rests on top of the beer. Retention is very good, and plenty of puffy lace sticks to the glass.

S: Mildly roasty malt aroma. Light cocoa and fruitiness, with some watered-down coffee notes. A light leafy/floral hop presence is noticeable. Perhaps a slight lactic tang as well.

T: Some mild roastiness up front, with the same light cocoa/coffee/fruit notes as in the nose. Hop presence builds gradually into a relatively firm bitterness, at least for such a low abv nitro-stout. Some light leafy flavor from the hops, and some light sourness into the finish.

M: Rather light bodied, but the nitro gives it some pleasant creaminess. Carbonation is light, and the beer is a bit lighter and more watery than standard nitro Guinness.

O: This isn't offensive, but it's also not terribly exciting. I don't know if it'll taste different enough from standard Guinness for people to really flock to it. That said, it's light and pleasant in terms of mouthfeel, so if it gets a beginner interested in more exciting beer, that's a good outcome.

14.9 oz can with nitro tab. Served in pint glass. Beer pours a disturbing milk chocolatey brown with a thick tan head, which settles in the normal Guinness bottom to top fashion. Not much in the way of aroma. I wouldn't say this is redder than regular Guinness, but definitely browner. Well ok, held right up to the light it does have a red hue. As expected, the mouthfeel is super creamy and easy drinking. Actually this beer is too easy drinking. I can't tell which there's less of: hops, or malt flavor. I almost want to say this stout is completely un-hopped, but no, there is a hint of bitterness in the middle. I also want to say this is not so much a stout as an otherwise unremarkable English mild ale that happens to be on nitro. Would not drink again.

440ml nitro can into a snifter

dark red pour on the bottom with a whooshing beige head. quite attractive as per all nitro pours. Smell with a bit of malts.. but very weak. taste has some malts and coffee flavors but a lot of bland nothingness. very "creamy" feel. extremely light bodied and carbonation is mild.

overall it is what it is. not something youd really want to drink but not offensive either. just Meh.

"Samhain, an ancient Celtic festival held every year on All Hallows' Eve, celebrates the end of the fall harvest and the coming of winter. On this night, the believers beckon restless spirits from the darkness with bonfires and sweet offerings from the bountiful harvest. Guinness Red Harvest Stout captures the spirit of that night with its alluring blend of lightly roasted barley and subtle sweet Irish malt." Brewed in the style of a Dry Irish Stout. Released as a fall seasonal, available in 14.9 oz. canned 4 packs and on draft.

Poured from a 14.9 oz. can to a Guinness Imperial pint glass. Served above 58º Fahrenheit.

(Appearance) Pours a smooth foamy nitrous head of a creamy mocha white complexion over a deep brown body with crimson highlights. Retention is excellent and lacing is light and spotty. 4.5

(Smell) Soft roasted malts with light herbal and spicy hops. Slightly more enjoyable aroma than the standard Guinness Draught. Potency is mild. 3.25

(Taste) Flavor is incredibly mild, perhaps even more so than Draught. Starts and finishes with a muted, soft caramel malt and a touch of dry roast, hop notes are less prevalent here. Very simple and considerably uninteresting, I don't see how this differs much from Draught. 2.75

(Mouthfeel) Texture is soft, smooth, thin. Nitro carbonation adds a silky smoothness for a creamy, soft mouthfeel. Body is light+ for the style, light+ overall. Balance is equally sweet to bitter, although neither are remotely profound, as lightness seems to get the upper hand in this beer. Alcohol profile is very low and there are no off-flavors. 3.25

(Overall) This beer gets as good as it gives, and it doesn't give much. It's difficult to draw any significance that Red Harvest brings over Guinness Draught, but perhaps it's even more bland and flavorless than it's year-round counterpart. There can be much more flavorful and enjoyable Dry Irish Stouts to be had out there. 3

Guinness Red Harvest Stout 4pk nitro can's $8.99(OH)

14.9 fl oz nitro can poured into a 17 oz white wine glass. No freshness date anywhere. But i know when I bought this and I let it age for a good reason. First purchased on Aug 18 2013. Aged for 8 months.

pours as dark as Guinness Draught. No surprise there. a Thick tan two finger head that stays around for a while. Gives way to minimal to decent lacing.

the aroma is pretty weak. A nice note of coffee and toasted malts. A weak hint of cherries, and a bitter sweet caramel yet toffee.

The taste is pretty strait forward. A nice toasted/roasted malts, Reminds me of Guinness draught with a light touch of cherries. Age has not really helped this brew at all. tastes like it did that day back in Aug '13. A light creamy note followed by a bitter sweet coffee cherry note.

Mouth feel is light, and kind of watery. Much like that of Guinness Draught. Not too much else here, maybe a slight cherry taste for the aftertaste.

Overall not too much here, compared to Guinness Draught. It does taste a little better due to the cherries, but as a seasonal Guinness it's not worth the hype. Guinness has always been a nice entry stout, nothing more. I will never compare Guinness to "real" Quality stouts.
