A: Pours a deep mahogany color with a good tan head that slowly fades to nice lacing.

S: Mild aroma of roasted malt and just a trace of dark fruit in the background,

T: Taste follows with roasted malt and a bit of dark fruit. Has a malty bitterness and a dry finish.

F: Fairly light body, smooth and creamy but a bit short on flavor.

O: Decent beer but there are much better stouts out there to pursue.

Guinness Red Harvest Stout 4pk nitro can's $8.99(OH)

14.9 fl oz nitro can poured into a 17 oz white wine glass. No freshness date anywhere. But i know when I bought this and I let it age for a good reason. First purchased on Aug 18 2013. Aged for 8 months.

pours as dark as Guinness Draught. No surprise there. a Thick tan two finger head that stays around for a while. Gives way to minimal to decent lacing.

the aroma is pretty weak. A nice note of coffee and toasted malts. A weak hint of cherries, and a bitter sweet caramel yet toffee.

The taste is pretty strait forward. A nice toasted/roasted malts, Reminds me of Guinness draught with a light touch of cherries. Age has not really helped this brew at all. tastes like it did that day back in Aug '13. A light creamy note followed by a bitter sweet coffee cherry note.

Mouth feel is light, and kind of watery. Much like that of Guinness Draught. Not too much else here, maybe a slight cherry taste for the aftertaste.

Overall not too much here, compared to Guinness Draught. It does taste a little better due to the cherries, but as a seasonal Guinness it's not worth the hype. Guinness has always been a nice entry stout, nothing more. I will never compare Guinness to "real" Quality stouts.

Very attractive with the nitro show settling into a tan head and a reddish and brown clear body.
Certainly a smallish beer with a very easy to drink body.
Soft nitro aroma that doesn't hold much other than light malt of a paler version.
If the goal was a lighter drinking version of their usual stout this is it. No roast, but not sweet either. A little dryness on the finish. No distict bitterness (maybe that is what they were looking for).
I don't mind it. Seems like a breakfast beer. Using this a.m. while brewing. It won't interfere at all.

Nitro can, one of the only beers I feel is valid to have nitro, and can is neat too. It's the end of stout season, so time to kill the remaining stouts as all the IPAs, saisons, and spring ales roll in.

The anticipation as the upside-down waterfall slowly radiates upwards... eventually settling on a huge creamy foamy 1.5 finger rich head that never seems to fade, lots of lacing all over too a thick white frothy completely covered lacing, over a very dark but somewhat clear mahogany dark brown with a nice ruby hue.

Nose has some nitro but not as much as I expected, a mild dark malt, creamy dark malt, as well as some toasty reddish malts, caramel, coppery malt notes, hint of a creamy cocoa like. but not much else, pretty light as expected.

Taste comes on creamy again, lots of nitro again, but this time more malty flavors, candy malt with a little caramel and reddish syrup candy without the syrup, as well as some Belgian-flavored amber malts, almost like a Belgian amber ale underneath, toasty reddish coppery malts, with a hint of a dark malt character, and touch of a creamy chocolate, mild biscuit note too. A hint of bitterness in there, I think more from the dark malts than any actual hops. Finish is sticky and just sticks all over the mouth, drier though, with a little bitterness, more dark malts and creamy flavors lingering.

Mouth is med bod, creamy, but not much for carbonation despite the widget and upside down waterfall.

Overall meh, wasn't expecting much, and that's about what I got. Just a lighter version of regular Guinness with a little toasty reddish malt and caramel coppery malt notes, pretty bland overall.

A - good head nice clingy lacing. Dark body but way too high clarity.

S - what smell? Aeresol and left over cereal milk.

T - kind of like a poor man's black and tan. Weaker than regular guineas but similar.

M - too thin. Too watery.

D - a disappointment. I won't be looking for this next fall.
