A - Black with reddish tints with a nice fluffy mocha head with good retention and stick.

S - A weak nose on this - some malts, fruity, cherries.

T - Malt forward, chocolate, bitter dry finish. Medium bodied.

O - This was okay - nice and easy to drink brew with a good mouth feel.

Guinness Red Harvest Stout present the traditional Guinness cascade, and it sets up with a creamy, cream-colored head (medium width), a clear, reddish-brown appearance, a lacing sheen, and lots of tiny bubbles that stream up, if the glass is agitated in any way. The aroma comes alive as the beer warms- very creamy, medium-roasted malt, caramel sweetness, and toffee. Taste is of very sweet, sugary, bready malt, caramel, cream, and a mellow hop bitterness to balance things out. Mouthfeel is medium and silky, and Guinness Red Harvest Stout finishes semi-dry, sweet, smooth, and delicious.

Kind of strange to open a Guinness Nitro can and not seeing the pitch black Stout. Pretty brown it is with reddish highlights. The usual smooth and creamy looking head of foam.

The smell I'm getting is not unlike a Guinness Stout. Light aroma of roasted malt and nothing else.

Roasted malt in the taste too but there's more. The subtle sweetness mentioned on the can is there but I don't think it is an asset to the overall taste. I call it a distracting displeasure and makes the brew, for me, much less drinkable than the Draught Stout. Same creaminess in the mouthfeel, obviously, but bottom line, I do not see the NEED for this beer to even exist. End of my story.

GUINNESS RED STOUT
Reviewed from notes. Poured from nitro-can into a Guinness glass.

A: Pours a deep red that becomes fairly clear after the swirling nitro-head and nitro-carb recedes - both of which there were plenty initially.

S: Malts - biscuit and bread - and clean. No hop presence to speak of, or anything else to make it particularly appealing to the nose.

T: Sweet toasted malts, slight grassy hops, and a clean lager finish. Nothing about this reminds me of a stout, but it's not offensive at all.

M: Has a light body, smooth mouthfeel from the nitro presentation, and low alcohol presence.

O: Nothing that I'd actively seek out again, but it wasn't offensive in any way, and a reasonably enjoyable beer.
