Had on tap last week in NYC. Appearance is light yellow and slightly hazy with little head.
Odor was light with hops green being the main component. There were some notes of citrus as well.
Taste was complex. Starting with green hops and continuing with fruity notes. Malt also is present, but only lightly. Tiny bit of tropical fruit.
Mouth feel is smooth and easy drinking. No trace of heaviness and a nice finish with little bitterness. Refreshing.
Overall, a very nice surprise for me personally. Easy drinking and pleasant. Balanced. Leaves you wanting more.

Growler consumed about 2 hours after fill.
A - Clear gold body, fluffy white head has good retention and lacing. Really looks great in the glass.
S - Hop forward citrus, grapefruit, tangerine. Oat, fresh white bread, doughy sweetness as it warms.
T - Follows the nose, finishing with more pine flavors. Mild caramel/honey sweetness mid-palate. Moderately bitter considering style, staying well balanced and bitter with the sugary sweetness subdued.
M - Medium body, medium carbonation, prickly hops across the palate, finishing mostly dry and moderately bitter for style.
O - This is really a great DIPA, and I'm not sure why I don't hear this mentioned more as one of the best. Well rounded hop character and depth of flavor, unique sweetness, well balanced for the style. A trip to the Detroit area is not complete without getting this.

On-tap at the brewery
A- A Deep yellow straw with great clarity and a thin layer of white head.
S- Lots of bright citrus and pine. Grapefruit and tangerine with dank pine.
T- Nice bitterness, seems around 70 or 80 IBUs. Get some of that pine in the aroma and the citrus as well. The 9.5% comes through more as it warms but for most of the drink it is very smooth.
M- Medium with a high degree of drinkability for the ABV, a very dangerous beer.
O- A very easy drinking IPA with great citrus and pine notes. One might be skeptical of a "rice" IPA but the rice really seems to help with the crispness of this beer and really lets the hops shine. Every few months or so I visit friends in metro Detroit and we always make sure to stop by Kuhnhenn and this is always the first beer we get. Can't wait til the brewery expands and bottles of this stuff are easier to obtain.
