Pours modestly orange with a decent sized head into the tulip glass. Nose is mainly sweet citrus with Belgian spice notes on the edge, primarily coriander.
Taste is a ride with a fruity opening (peaches?), bread in the middle, and a spicy, somewhat hoppy finale. Interesting stuff.
Mouthfeel, decent but not remarkable, ditto on the drinkability, it's a tasty Belgian style beer, but it's not in the elite upper echelon for me.
The bottom line: Kuhnhenn justifiably have a reputation for unique, well-crafted beers, and Simcoe Silly is another example of that. Very complex taste profile, and certainly worth trying out if you run into it.
Serving type: on-tap
