Pours a very hazy hazy orangy yellow. It sort of reminds me of something that's been peed on by a cat, but without the ammonia in the nose. It has a nice enough bite but doesn't really blow me away. I like my IPA's to really grab ahold of you and go "I AM A RICH AND TASTY PIECE OF HOP GLORY!" whilst shaking your body from the collar. Don't get me wrong, it's smooth enough to drink, and it goes down really nicely with a satiny bubbly feeling sensation. In fact, I bet this is even better on a hot summer day with the barbecue going... but i've had much better IPA's... It's run of the mill. sorry.

12oz : tulip

Clear, burnt orange with a thick, foamy off white head.

Herbal, piney, balanced with a malty, caramel malt backbone.

Medium+ body, mild foamy carbonation.

A decent tasting beer overall, but doesn't meet my expectations as an IPA as the hops seemed muted and the malt more prominent than I'd like.

on-tap @ Quinn's, pre mutual benefit

Somewhat of a classic PNW IPA, often pushed further down the food chain by flashier competition with more refined product. Still, you can do a lot worse for yourself than kicking back a few pints of this. Body is a bit heavy for me as a result of the strong malting, but this IPA definitely packs a bitter citrus-rind hop punch as well. Drained a few pints and paid a small tribute to this old-school (by craft brewery terms) IPA

A: golden amber, mostly clear with visible carbonation. Sustaining thin foamy head, some lacing.

S: damp, little wet cardboard, some grapefruit notes in there as well

T: carbonation and light bitterness starts the beer. There are some dark fruit hints, but not much more than that, as well as maybe a bit of caramel. The citrus notes are present through but take over with grapefruit and some lemon hints in the end.

M: mildly dry throughout, earthy, and a light pull lingers for a while; not overpowering

O: a very like able IPA. Only thing preventing it being higher rated is the bitterness leans a little on the sour side for my tastes.

Appearance has a hazy orange color supporting a fair dissipating head leaving fair lace. Smell has a nice balance with the citric hops and sweet malt. Taste having a bold upfront flavor of an IPA with the piney, grapefruit flavor with the sweet caramel malt. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation.
