Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and some good beer on a weekday. Sat at the bar.

Clean and upscale setting. Nothing pretentious, just nicely done. Good music. When I sat down they gave a small bowl of fancy olives. Quite tasty. Nice touch.

Bartender was attentive and knowledgeable. Not overly friendly, but that was fine.

I ordered a pizza. It came quite quickly. Very tasty.

Star of this show is the beer [as it should be]. Bottled beer menu is about 12 pages. Also had about 12 beers on tap. 1 cask ale was available, which is always impressive.

Overall, a very nice place to stop in for a bite to eat and some good beer.

Atmosphere: A fairly small place, a bit tight but nice. Low lighting, booths and a small bar.

Quality: Everything was on target.

Service: Fun waiter made us feel welcome even coming in close to closing. Very laid back, offered samples of anything we wanted to taste.

Selection: Tons of bottles, and an interesting 12 tap selection, a mix of American and other beers.

Food: Great pizza.

Highly recommended

Visited multiple times, always during lunch or late afternoon. Updated 12/5/14

Overall a great place to drink beer, talk, work, eat. AVOID the front area in the afternoon as the sun shining in through the window is either very hot (summer) or just blinding (year round).

A - Great atmosphere for eating, talking, drinking casually, even "doing work." I quite often have a long lunch and read my journal articles. Clean, open, bright but not too much, can be a bit crowded table wise. Could definitely use a bigger bar. - 4.5

Q - Kegs rotate constantly. Not so sure about the bottles. They serve the beer in the appropriate glasses. - 4.25

Ser - Good service. A bar order can sometimes be a bit slow to the table. Appropriately attentive. - 4

Sel - The tap list is hit or miss. Go online either at their website or Beer Menus to get the latest - but not always up to date. Typically some good stuff on tap with the selection sometimes being over the top outstanding - just depends. They always have a Belgian or two on tap. Bottle list is extensive, but I ding them her for not having the Stone - Lucky Bastard when I ordered it (but still on the menu). - 4

F - Excellent food. The salads and pizzas are great. Somewhat limited menu. Though not advertised on the menu, ask for meat (look at the pizza menu) on your salad (if that is something you would like). I highly recommend the spicy lamb on a pizza. - 4.7

V - $$$ - Food, but especially bottle beer, can be a bit over the top price wise. Best value is on tap beer (duh!)

I visited this place on a recent trip to Washington. Good location which is quite central to most attraction in Washington. The food is great and made with soem very fresh ingredinets. The beer selection is quite extensive with great find on tap with great sampler tray which allows trying quite few beers from their huge selection. Service was great and patio is very enjoyable during those hot summer days. A must-stop if in DC.

I think if people were to ask me: "What is your favorite place in terms of atmosphere and convienience in the DC area to grab a beer?", I'd pick this place and this specific location.

Atmosphere: Once you exit the Metro at DuPont, head left, or if you come out on the other end, walk straight ahead, hit Connecticut Ave. Wine and Liquor, then head back to the circle, then right. Have I confused you yet?

Quality and Service: Service is always good. Don't worry about that. Quality: High quality establishment in terms of beer and food, that's why they're still in business.

Selection: Great beer selection! Also, they've been known to host "out of the market" beer events. For instance, they hosted an impromptu FFF dinner with Vanilla Bean Dark Lord as the featured attraction. Need I state more?

Food: The pizza is good, but not as good as Comet Ping Pong, Fireworks, and many others in the area. However, it's definitely serviceable.

Value: This is DC, and since it is such, plan to pay a bit more. Still, this is on-par with the area.

After hearing good things about this place, once my meetings in the Dupont Circle area ended I headed over for a pint or two. Very neat and clean exterior, and it continues inside. Bright from all the windows, old rustic brick, and loads of light colored wood make this place feel comfortable. Open kitchen in the back, and there was an outdoor seating area.

The bar is small as it can seat about 10. There is a beer list on the wall and on menus. There are about 5 well stocked refridgerators behind the bar allowing you to see all the selections too. There were 12 drafts covering many styles. Anchor Bock, La Chouffe, Hitachino Red Rice Ale, Rabid Duck, Mahajara, Breckenridge 471 IPA, and Stillwater Debutante names a few. The beers were fresh that I had.

Service was prompt and knowledgable. Price were a bit pricey but not overly so for the area. Since i had lunch a bit earlier I was not hungry, but the pizzas did look very good. Overall this was a very pleasant experience.

A little different from the Georgetown one in that no basement and they are able to sit you outside (and to honest, not any drunk college kids in a basement, so to speak). Damn good bottle list and a revolving tap list that should please even the most ardent beer drinkers and barfly reviewers here. Servers aren't the greatest w/ beer knowledgeable but it is passable but who can complain when they are nice, quick and don't screw up a complicated order. In fact the only complaint you'll get out of me is on food - being a pizza snob as well and having had pizzas from near and afar, I find the pizzas here good but not great and a little expensive for what you get. But that's neither here nor there - enjoy a few brews and a slice or two outside while you can and you won't go wrong.
