This place looks pretty good from the outside, definitely not bad for a strip mall-type joint. Overall, the look and vibe are very similar to the Toledo location. There's a cool outdoor patio that's shielded from the wind when necessary, which is a good though that isn't often practiced. The space inside is nice, big and open with a brass & wood bar and glazed terra cotta tiled floors. I don't care for the big, gaudy blow-up macro bottle, etc. hanging from the ceilings or the Keno and arcade games almost everywhere, but business is business. The pool area is off of the main area, so it's pretty well separated, and there are a few TVs here and there but not too many or too loud.
The service is good. Bartenders are friendly and generally get to people pretty quickly, and the servers are always nice to customers. Knowledge of the beers depends on which server you get.
The bar area is nice, long and well-spaced, with a line of sight to a cooler behind the counter as well as the taps.
For Temperance, the selection of beers is a 5. That's because there's absolutely nothing else whatsoever. Nothing. At. All. For SD, Portland, Asheville, GR, etc., it would be lucky to get higher than a 1. At any rate, I'm not saying any bar with around 10 taps has a spectacular selection, and the cooler is pretty small but it is well stocked. The taps have mostly craft, though sometimes it's about 50/50. I've seen Great Lakes and Founders, but most of the time it seems like they're largely unaware of any MI brewery besides Bell's. That's not a bad thing, but it probably ought to rotate more.
All in all, it's a good place to eat and have some beers you'll enjoy, and the food is tasty. Don't go looking for beers you haven't tried before, though.

A newer addition to the Temperence area, sister bar to the Nick & Jimmies in Toledo, and part of a group of rather successful bars and taverns owned by the same group of owners.
Decor is of the sports bar/tavern variety, with a central bar location with seating at the bar or on either side. They usually have a Bell's seasonal on tap, but so far no Hopslam.(I can only wait and hope!) I was surprised that they also offered Anchor Steam and Anchor Porter, and Liberty Ale(albeit in bottles), as this is the first time I have seen this beer offered in a restaurant or bar in this area.
The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food, which is of the standard tavern variety, was very good and reasonable priced.
Overall, a very good place to kick back and watch a game, or come for dinner, or just for a few good craft brews. (Still waiting for you, Hopslam!)

This place is my favorite local bar to hit, if you see a guy with a hookah that answers to Steve, that's me.

Now while the manager John is the only person with a really good beer knowledge, the rest of the staff is extremely friendly and John does his best to force as much craft beer in the bar as the bosses of the chain will allow. (his dream is to get enough customer demand to put hopslam on tap)

They have a pretty decent amount of craft on tap and a great menu to go alongside.

Be sure to ask for your beer to be served the way you like, otherwise a frosty mug will come your way, but they'll do back flips to make you happy.

Matt, Lindsey, and John are fantastic bartenders and you're pretty lucky if you get one of them.

This is my town and my favorite watering hole! Nick and Jimmy's in Temperance, MI has a beautiful wood bar that raps around in a circle. Beautiful brass accented pieces in the shape of a naked woman. Very nice nostalgic feel!

There are booths, tables and an out-door patio. Keno and shuffle board is available for those who wish to partake.
Smoking is still cool for Michigan but they do have huge smoke eaters on the ceiling so the cigarette smoke is well under control.

They have an average tap selection but do have Bell's seasonal on tap (Oberon, Best Brown, and Two Hearted). They have a modest beer in bottle selection too.

The food is some of the best bar food in the area; wings, burgers, fish, steak and sandwiches.

Let's not forget those pretty girls behind the bar and wait staff. Quick service with a smile!

Great atmosphere and family friendly! A comfortable place to meet friends and family for food and a few pints of Bell's!

Cheers!

Similar to Nick & Jimmies in Toledo (same owner). Imports on a large chalk board. Very good selection of imports and macro's. Micro's are less represented, but a good number are available on tap and bottled. Unfortunately, not much of the premo stuff. I would love to see them get some Founders, high end Bell's and Great Lakes. The staff is excellent. I don't claim that they are extremely knowledgeable about craft beer, but they move beer and do it fast and politely (unlike some local bars that don't get the fast or polite parts). The food menu is also quite good, if you are not dieting.
