From notes:

P: Placid except for the great bubbles flying to the top. Cloudy golden tan that looks similar to brewed tea.

S: Sweet malts, bananas, smells like a watered down banana slushy.

T/M: A rough presence with sweet malts, artificial banana, and subtle spices with cinnamon being the forerunner. Good mouthfeel that is creamy and slightly sticky. Tad amount of cherry alcohol lurking in the background.

O: Not a bad beer, definitely the Boars Best foot forward. The flavor mix is muddled but is easy to drink and has a relatively refreshing taste. Not a top contender in my list of favorites but a decent beer.

It took awhile to pour into my pint glass due to a LOT of carbonation. In the half of the glass with beer had a nice hazy yellow with just a touch of a classic beer brown. I expected a lager to have a much cleaner appearance. The other half of the glass was an off white head. Still trying to pour the beer into a pint glass. The nose has a yeasty and bready smell that I would expect from a wheat or hefe but not a lager. Took 5 minutes to pour because of carbonation. The final pour was almost all sediment? I haven't seen that in a lager either. The taste had a lot of grain and musky. The finish had a soap like taste that I couldn't get rid of. I want to support Oklahoma breweries but this is the first beer that I could not finish.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours clear gold color with a white head. The aroma is not good at all. It smells like corn with some chlorine mixed in for good measure. The flavor is a little better but still not good. I get some corn and wheat with some earthy hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours a hazy apricot with much effervescence & a finger of tan head. Lots of floaties, average head retention & some lacing

S: Orchard fruit, sour smells & wet dog, not looking good. Offending wet dog smell fades as this warms

Estery fruit, pears & not much else up front. Pears & lemony hops, plus slight grainy notes as this warms, plus slight acidic notes. Finishes fruitty with lemon, a bit of honey & slight phenolic notes

MF: Light bodied, fairly brisk carbonation, thickens up a bit as this warms

Drinks okay. Very forgettable; as is every other beer I've had from these guys, glad I only bought a single!

pours a cloudy golden yellow, looks like a wheat beer. nice white head on it.

smells wheaty, slightly sweet, with some grassy hops. somewhat funky.

taste is pretty average and somewhat strange, reminds me a bit of the Battered Boar Briarpatch Ale with more grains instead of fruit. Im getting hints of wheat and some kind of spice i can't identify. Not bad.

Mouthfell is pretty good, somewhat coarse, but refreshing. Light bodied, fairly high carbonation.

All in all this is a pretty drinkable beer, and was worth trying. It's not anything extravagant and probably won't knock your socks off, but its a solid beer to kick back and relax with.

Pours a hazed orange-copper color with a massive amount of carbonation that forms 2 inches of white head.

Lightly sweet caramel malt is the dominant flavor with some mild fruitiness contributed from the yeast. Hop bitterness is quite low, as is hop flavor, especially for the style. Where are the Northern Brewer hops? What I get from the hops comes across as slightly spicy and earthy. The finish is slightly sweet with a bit of carbonation bite from the aforementioned carbonation overload that I've experienced in every other Battered Boar beer I've had.

I want to like this brewery and its beers, and I'd like to support a local brewery, but so far they haven't given me much to work with. From the sub-par beer to the amateurish packaging it just doesn't work for me.

What I can say is that 405 Oklahoma Lager is their best effort yet, as it seems they've begun to clean up some of their off-flavors as they continue to refine the brewing process. There's still some wet cardboard oxidation, though. That said, it's less than mediocre at best and I don't plan on picking up another bottle anytime soon.

Terrible.
