pours a decent, clear, slightly golden straw hue with a two-plus-finger shaving cream-like head that has surprisingly decent retention and leaves acceptable lace.

aroma is earthy, grassy, a bit vegetal. a bit of cooked cabbage, some fresh brussel sprouts and some grain. would be good if it were a cabbage roll, but alas, it ain't. I feel I'm open with many pils/lager/cheap cans, but this one just smells tepid. a hint of hops mix with some chem-metalic notes.

taste is a bit better, though not a huge improvement. grainy, bready, doughy with some herbal grassy hop notes that don't help to brighten it all that much.

mouth is fair. moderate body for the style, ample carbonation, a lingering slightly astringent bitterness is just shy of being pleasant.

all in all, this one is distinctly forgettable. not the worst, but not the best. distinctly canned euro lager, but not the better side of the spectrum. I'm all for giving canned euro stuff high scores, but this one just falls flat.

I think this beer is quite good. Had it in the can, and it's pretty tasty, looks good, smells good. Picked up the single, but if I were in the mood for a Dutch beer, I would certainly pick up more than just a single. It's not the BEST beer I've ever had, but I would rate it superior than many others. ;)

16.9 oz can into a pint glass.

A: Pours a clear golden color. The head is three fingers high, and white in shade. I like how fluffy the head's texture is, and it has pretty good retention to boot. Some lacing is left on the glass.

S: Smells much like a cheap Euro lager - it's a bit hoppier than the Buds of the world (I do notice the noble hops), but it still has some cereal grain character and plenty of sweet malts. About what I expected it to smell like.

T: Huh? This tastes somewhat oxidized. It also has the typical grainy lager sweetness, but that vaguely fruity and sherry-like character is unmistakable. There's a bit of noble hops on the finish - and I can't say enough how welcome this character is in a cheap lager. The bitterness builds slightly as more is consumed, and again, that's just so freakin' welcome. It is what it is, folks - for a macro lager, it's pretty good.

M: While it does have a healthy sweetness, it's dry and hoppy enough to quash this somewhat. Its body is fairly full for a lager, but not flabby. Quite well carbonated.

O: In many ways, us 'Murican beer drinkers are conditioned to think that European macro lagers are better than US macro lagers. While not a great beer by any stretch, this is superior to all of the BMC crap flooding the market. If cheap lagers happen to be your thing, then this is definitely worth a try.

Dark gold in color, nose is vegetal husk, cracked grains, minerals and dry cereal. Taste is the dry malty sweetness of water crackers and unleavened bread. Chewy minerals and soft noble hops in the finish. Metallic tasting from the can, but still a clean and bitter European style pilsner.

Poured into a Ayinger pint glass. Pours a light golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to a thin film and ring around the glass, no lacing. Aroma of sweet biscuit malt, faintly spicy, but hints of sourness; grainy and mild. Starts out with biscuit malt, grassy hops and hints of apple juice, but quickly tapers off to a bland faint sweet malt. Light bodied. Obviously brewed as a cheap, satisfactory pilsner, a half step above an adjunct ale and delivers to expectations. Drinkable but forgettable, average in all respects. Brewed by Wolters, and fortunately in a can so at least it's not skunky like their beers in green bottles.

App: White head, clear coors body, minimal head retention and no lacing.

Nose: Wheat, malt, crisp malt, rice vinegar, banana.

Taste: Nice mouthfeel, clean, refreshing, a little watery, saltine crackers.

Notes: A fairly decent pilsner for a great price. If you have to drink something like Coors Light and can have this instead, give this a try.

Poured from a 500ml can. Appearance is a clear gold with a yellowish hue. White head forms but doesn't retain much. The nose features bready malts, notes of light caramel, bread crust, and corn. The flavor is pretty lacking with a bitter finish. The toasty bread comes through with a musty tinge. There is a hint of hops at the finish. Mouthfeel is light with moderate level of carbonation. Overall, an uninspired Pilsener which is lacking in flavor.
