I ordered this at Quencher's Saloon in Chicago, mainly because I never saw it anywhere else before. 11.2oz brown bottle with no freshness date or anything about the beer on the label.

The beer poured a perfectly clear pale gold color and made a ½-finger of white head that lasted about a minute. There was very little lacing.

The best way to describe the smell is - there isn't any.

Nice malt and grain flavor with perhaps a touch of honey as well. Then came the big surprise. OMG there are actually detectable hops in here that impart a mild bitter flavor. Much better taste than I expected.

Light, smooth, and crisp with a medium high carbonation level - which I liked.

It's still just a macro lager, but one of the better ones that I have tasted. No alcoholic flavors and very drinkable.

A whipped white head with some staying power atop a basic macro color. (They proudly admit to Maize on the label- figure the gringos find that more exotic than corn).

The aroma is lightly earthy- leading into a metallic taste.

The finish clangs on in a harsh, metallic way. Luckily, some C02 washes it out.

Drinkable? MAYBE with spicy food or tapas.

The Gambrinus name is on the label- if this is in league with Corona that expalins alot.

Okay- I tried one Spanish beer.

This clear golden pilsner is surprisingly rich in grainy malt that's peppered with herbal and spicy hop flavors.

Its head retention is good, and it leaves some nice lace at the outset of the glass. The nose is malty and brightly hoppy as well; and it's lightly crisp in the mouth. It's balanced by a solid bitter back-bone that, along with its spicy & herbal hops, holds its malt in check. It finishes short and dry with a short-lingering bitterness.

Overall, this is a very nicely done European pilsner that's satisfying and refreshing.

Pours pale golden from the twelve ounce bottle with a rather large, foamy white head. Immediate unmistakable aroma of a cheap euro lager - some pretty pervasive skunkiness. Aroma actually subsides the closer you get to the beer. Seriously foamy body holds a decent flavor of mid-grade Eurpoean lager - clean, with a slight hoppy bite. Not a bad flavor, but the body and smell make this one pretty undesirable.

12oz bottle

A- Poured into a pint glass. Pours a Pale golden yellow with a fizzy white head.

S- The aroma is faint grainy malt and really not much else. The aroma is very faint.

T- The taste starts off with some malt and just a hint of hops in the finish. Very light and on the watery side.

M- The mouthfeel is light bodied with a high amount of carbonation.

D- Overall, this tastes like a Spanish version of Budweiser. Not horrible, but pretty bland.

Estrella Galicia, from Spain: made from “water, maize, barley, hops” got to hand it to a company that boasts its use of adjuncts right on the label. This Spanish macro-brew really grew on me over the course of the six pack. Light amber color, with a head that disappeared very quickly, and had that slightly skunked euro-lager aroma. Initial taste was a mild soapy malt taste, followed very quickly very by a strong hop bite. On its own, it wasn’t very good, but it matched extremely well with slightly spicy foods. I’ll look for this next time I’ve having tapas.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass, this premium lager pours a quite clear light straw in color with a half inch of soapy white head. Retains a solid cap with an occasional spin and yields some soapy lacing.

Bit of husky grain on the nose and some Noble hops, somewhat grassy. Bit of light corn syrup sweetness detected yet typical of a macro. Euro. Lager.

Taste follows suit with no notable adjuncts in the house. Light malt flavor is simple but pleasant. Offers an average feel and drink.

Viewed as a Euro. Pale Lager, this beer has no resemblance whatsoever to any Amero-adjunct I've witnessed. Overall a bit sweet and simple minded in a Euro Strong sense. Not much character..

Note: Best by May 2010.

Quick review - American style BMC lager but with more to it.

I poured the first of two bottles of this beer into a glass provided upon request at the restaurant. The appearance was that of a typical American major brewery lager - a pretty golden, only with a more respectable (thicker) 1.5" head that held up nicely while drinking (I usually pour hard).

It smelled rather mild and typical for a standard lager.

The taste set it apart from a Budweiser type immediately, crisp but not so mild as the majors. More flavor, not bitter or wheaty, but good flavor just the same.

The mouthfeel was a little thicker than the typical major American lager, but not so thick as to match a Belgian double.

You could knock back several of these while eating boiled crawfish. Not something you want or need to sip. Definitely a session beer.

Disclaimer - this is my first beer review.

Poured from a brown bottle into a weizen glass. Has a gold color with a 1/2 inch head. Aroma is mild, slightly grainy. Taste is rather bland, not much flavor and a tad bit of bitterness. A bit watery in the mouth. Drinkability is o.k. Overall a very average beer.

Poured yellowish/pinkish and otherwise indistiguishable from most Euro/American macro lagers.

Very sour and hard, with a moderate crispness and light body. A touch of pine needle and macadamia nut.

Could use a touch of sweetness or citrus on the back end, but otherwise refreshing in the summer with some white fish if you like really acidic beers.

Very poor drinkability. Poured it out 3/4 of the way through.
