Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of a tan color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of roasted malt, hops, sweet malt, and slight alcohol. Fits the style of an American Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt, citrus hops, sweet malt, alcohol, and slight pine. Overall, a simple stout, but the flavors are very distinct, robust, and fresh tasting.

I had this on-tap at the High Noon Saloon in a pint glass.

Appearance- Almost black with a fingers worth of tan head. Small amount of lacing.

Smell- Dark roasted malt with hints of coffee and chocolate.

Taste- Same as the smell. Nicely balanced with almost no aftertaste.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Very smooth.

Overall- Very enjoyable. I will definitely be going back for this one.

Pours a dark, chalky looking black color with moderate cap of brown head, little retention and lacing. Scent showcases roasted malts with notes of char, bitter chocolate and roasted coffee, faint dark dried fruits present themselves in the end. Taste follows scent, simple yet well constructed and great tasting. Its all about malt character here as roast, char, chocolate, coffee and dark fruit play in almost equal capacity. Lighter side of full bodied, smooth but not necessarily creamy. A very nice intro to this brewery and a great stout that doesn't try to get too cute with overabundance.

Almost black in hue, well it’s definitely black in the middle and really dark brown around the edges. It is hard to tell as the glass is frosted and cold. Tan bubbles, at the apex the head was a perfect finger of foam. Head retention was excellent, a small cap lasted the entire consumption but there was no subsequent lacing. Good appearance.

Well, it smells like a stout. Roasted malts, coffee notes with chocolate hints. It is simplistic but quite nice, nevertheless. Moderately potency, chatty though. I found it inviting and dead-on style-wise. BTW, this is an Americanized Dry Stout.

The place card at the table said, “our version of Guinness.” This stout is better than Guinness. Roasted malts produce coffee with hints of char and chocolate. Sweet, almost milky hints at the back plus there are faint suggestions of sourness. Earthy hops at the end. I don’t find this stout all the bitter or astringent yet it is tasty. Clean aftertaste with only a faint lingering roasted kiss. Quite nice.

Medium-light in body, creamy carbonation… this beer may or may not have been served on nitrogen. I don’t think it was. Smooth and relaxing mouthfeel.

Easy to drink, it could be a session beer… I liked it enough to drink it again but I still couldn’t see myself drinking a lot of this, I mean it was good but not *that* good. I sampled it at the brewpub. Worth a try.

Jet black, with garnet traces. Thin, spotty, soapy tan head. Laceless. Aroma of bittersweet carbonized malt in aroma with an underlay of smokey charcoal and dark toffee. Trace sweet plum esters. Clean and enticing aromawise. Smoothly carbonaceous, singed caramel upfront in flavor. Very clean dark malt profile without a trace of astringency. Chocolate malt character augments as it breathes, and is first dryish and bitter cocoa like before settling into a static milk chocolate presence. Dry, simple roasted barley bitterness nd fleeting residual sweetness in the finish. Slightly thin, but passably viscous and soft in mouthfeel. Quaffable, well rounded and agreeably rich in chocolate profile. Very tasty. I wish it looked better.

This stout is a deep dark brown with an off-white creamy head. The aroma is a sour buttery mixture. The flavor is of dark roasted malt with buttery overtones. The flavor gets just a bit watery but the body help perk it up a bit.
