Sampled at McMenamin's Six Arms in Seattle, WA. Note - it's hard to say whether this was the exact beer I had there since their menu/beer list did not give the names of the beers; only the syles.

Served with a wedge of lemon on my glass, which I promptly discarded. Slightly cloudy straw color. Interesting that this one was less cloudy than their IPA! A faint bit of yeast-induced spice in the aroma. Very crisp and clean malt flavor, balanced nicely with spicy noble hops. Nice dry finish with just a hint of tartness. Very light mouthfeel. Pretty decent. I bet it would have gone down even better if it was warm outside.

Edgefield Wheat is drinkable but unexceptional. It is nicely clouded – the color of radiant flan custard. (An obvious comparison, for Portland, if nothing else, is a town teaming with radiant flan custard.) The scant aroma is enhanced by a wedge of lemon. There is no head, infrequent lace, and not a whole lot of flavor. Still, McMenamins’ everyday wheat ale is clean and makes for a wholesome food compliment when your attentions are not exclusively focused on beer.
