I wish this place wasn't so posh, expensive and phony. I love the location, right in Old Towne Orange, with plenty of charm. Inside it is modern and generic. It just looks like an overpriced "trendy" bar.
Service staff is a pretty young, who aren't tremendously "service" minded. They don't seem to care about you one way or another - and wish you would hurry and leave so they can seat more people. I was there for hours watching the lunch to dinner crowd with an old friend very recently.
I was not impressed with the tap selection, or the bottled brews either. They refuse to get anything like Pliney, because they don't think the crowd would even know what it is. I found this out after a long talk with a full-time bartender. he blatantly admitted to me that they started off as more reasonable, but the more they got established, the higher the prices went "because they can." Wow. Pretty cocky, not sure how I feel about taking my money there now.
You wind up paying alot more here, for less, for Duvel or something even easier to find.
Same goes for food, it's okay, small, pretentious, and overpriced. Meh.

Went here last weekend with some friends. Saturday night around 6pm and our party of 3 got the last available table without a wait.
At first glance, this place seems amazing, but once you settle in that good feeling quickly dissipates.
Very noisy. Like other reviewers, I am 27 and can typically handle a bar like atmosphere, but this was too noisy for the perceived motif of the pub. Music was good selection, but drowned out conversation at our table.
Food was good, not great. I got the baked Mac n' cheese with Gruyere, which sounded great, but tasted like mac n' cheese with a can of cream of mushroom soup. Other guests burger was tasty, but $14. Third guest's lamb Shepard's pie was lacking flavor.
The beer is why we went there, and this was the biggest let down! First off, their tap list was mediocre at best, a few out of ordinaries, but Duvel, Maudite, and other "regular" brews rounded it out. They were all out of 3 of their 9ish available draft picks including Stone's Sublimely Self-Righteous. No problem, I think, I'll just order from their extensive bottle collection.... WRONG! Half of the bottle collection is 22oz or 750ml, hence being >$20 and some up to $100+! I finally find a good 12oz to order, but guess what, they're out. FULLY 7 BEERS IN A BOTTLE I TRIED TO ORDER BUT THEY WERE ALL OUT (not exaggerating)!!! On a Saturday night, no less!!! I finally just got a 10oz pour of Duvel for $9.
On top of this we were charged $0.25 for each of our "Naturala" waters, and I was charged $0.25 for each taster from the bar, unbelievable.
There are MUCH better places around, don't bother with Haven.

Stopped by this place for dinner after waiting in line at Bruery Provisions for almost 2 hrs. I had read great things about this place. I checked out their website and saw many offerings I was interested in. I was able to convince my crew to check this place out eventhough the food menu seemed a little pricey. When we got in and seated we were told that they were training a waitress and she'd be shadowing the waiter. Cool, no problem, except they gave us one beer menu for four seated. We were missing silverware and it took a while to get our initial drink order. Once we were tended to, we were informed that several of the beers we were asking for were unavailable. 15$ for Alpine Nelson - little high but fresh nonetheless. Food was good but pricey. Jumbo prawns with cheese grits. The company I was with didn't enjoy their food as much as I did, but to each their own. I'll more than likely patronize another establishment next time I'm in the area.

I live a block and a half from Haven and I was really excited when this place first opened. A local that would only pour craft beer and a top notch burger on par with Fathers imho. Unfortunately the place has jacked the beer prices through the roof while not even offering a proper pint. If your going to charge $7+ a beer at least make it 16 oz. Try to get a drop on the weekends and you will have to push your way through a bunch of rejects from an old Duran Duran video to get to the bar. Snooty attitudes prevail from the staff and the crowd. There are some bright spots, the food is usually excellent and Babe (yes thats her real name) the bartender is one of the best in the business. The owners are friendly enough just more interested in being trendy then a good local.

Cool little English gastropub type motif in old school downtown Orange, close to Bruery Provisions. Lots of wood, really enjoyed hearing The Get Up Kids on whatever was playing the music (I suspect someone's ipod on shuffle).
A great alleged selection of beers available. I dunno what the deal is with this unfortunate trend lately, but it gets old repeatedly requesting beers that are on the menu, on the website, but not actually available. Claimed Damnation 23, no. Claimed Alpine Nelson, no. Claimed -bal Ten Fidy, no. Service was decent, some hotties, some heavier, uglier, tatted types that give the fellow tall skinny hottie trainee employees dirty looks behind her back, that was classic. Ended up finally settling on a $15 bottle of Alpine Duet. At least it was fresh.
Shepard's Pie was disappointing, bland, just some supermarket hamburger & mashed potatoes. Just wasn't all that impressed with this place, I hate places that hype up their beer selection on paper, but then fail to deliver in reality.

I went with my husband and a friend. The beer selection was good, lots of different choices. It was nice to see different kinds of beer I had never heard of before. The service was just ok, kind of wished they were a little more knowledgeable and welcoming. Food was good too, I had the mac and cheese. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed it which is good because he is a total food critic. It was pricey but I would definitely go again. They also just introduced happy hour I might give it a shot, hopefully its not too crowded.
