A beer with a little promise, but falls a little flat.
A - Pours copper with a decent head and lacing the dissipates quickly
S - Heavy plantain with a hint of carmel malt sweetness. Cinnamon spicing purveys a little to make this an almost Christmas smelling brew.
T - Herb and spice flavors give this beer a mild, sweet flavor. No hint of hop. Banana and raisin flavoring gives an interesting character, however the flavor disappears quickly.
M - Carbonation cuts through sweet spiciness to give this brew a thinner texture.
O - Decent, a thin yet spiced beer that's distinct although not a total home run.

Thanks to mar for sharing this beer. Always wanted to try Cable Car, but this will have to do for now.
The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is toffee with some bread mixed in. Definitely a malt-forward aroma, I just wish there was more going on. The flavor is more complex. I get some toffee and bread notes as in the aroma, but I also get some grassy hops as well as some cinnamon and nutmeg. You can taste the spices, you just can't smell them. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Decent, but nothing special.

Dark copper, light brown appearance, offwhite beige head around .5" in size, aroma was heavy on the twigs and berries with plenty of spice.
The taste is cinnamon, elderberry, thyme, ginger, cardomomish and some sweetness. What was neat at first became a chore as the beer wore on. Toffee malt flavor hides in the background as kvass like spices run rampant.
I thought it was ok, then I just wanted to be done with it, a decent beer in small doses. At least the price was cheap, another one of the Bevmo contract brew type situations.

Another 12 oz. twistoff from 'Cable Car Brewing Co.' out of Rochester, NY and now brewed by Genesee Brewing I would assume. Pours a clear orange amber with a thin off white cap. Retention and laciing are light as the carbonation is a bit fleeting.
Nose of caramel and very light hops. Bit of spice in the form of allspice and cinnamon is present but subdued, expanding slightly with warming.
Flavor is sweet with caramel notes balanced a bit by the spice notes to keep if from being too singular in its approach and balancing the feel a bit a bit as well. Spices are more prominent in the flavor department but don't carry into the finish, making the feel a bit watery especially given the light carbonation. Decent drink with a flash of orange on the finish.

Clear brown colored beer in a shade that could be called red, small white head.
Smells sweet and spicy with a bread pudding aroma with caramel and ginger.
Starts out bready and spicy with a fair amount of sweetness. The flavor is mostly Ginger Bread. No real hop presence.
Mouthfeel is good.
Drinkability is OK. Not great or bad, just a c grade winter warmer.

Poured into a pint glass
A: Pours a dark golden and amber color with a shaded white head that fades quickly.
S: The smell was limited, but some spices were detected.
T: It tasted mostly of floral with some sweetness. It also had a smokey quality.
M: It was a smooth drink. Not much carbonation.
D: Overall it was a decent brew. Just nothing special.

Pale amber in color. Pours a big, off-white head. Lacing is of a good consistency. Appears lowly-moderately carbonated.
A minty presence, like a Cali Common, with a hint of spice and some pale malt sweetness with a tinge of something toasted.
Minty, earthy hops are subtle and not in your face, while the grain is slightly sweet, but a dry, cider-like sweetness. Not to say that this brew tastes LIKE cider.
Starts out full in the mouth, quickly turns bubbly and then dries the hell out of your mouth.
This one tastes like a slightly weaker California Common in my opinion and I would not be surprised that they used Northern Brewer or Perle in this brew along with a lot of pale malt with a smidgen something darker, say 100L, to give it a color change and a non-caramel toastiness.
Plus, $5.99 at whole foods for a sixer. For that price this brew is a steal.

Small Batch No. 00025:
APPEARANCE: Very pretty copper in color with a relatively unimpressive head. Some small amount of lacing is present with each sip, but it quickly slides down the side.
SMELL: Light aroma of sweet, toasty malt smells.
TASTE: Malt and spice completely dominate this beer. The sugary spices are a little more bold than the malt, but both are strong. This reminds me of a lighter and less rich Pere Jacques.
MOUTHFEEL: Unlike the Pere Jacques, this is not as mouthcoating or rich, rather it is nice and sparkly with a slightly dry finish.
OVERALL: A nice beer that would probably only offend the most die-hard BMC fans, but might appeal to someone on the fence. The drawback is that it is not terribly complex and therefore might not keep the interest of a more sophisticated palate. Worth a try though.
