Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass.

APPEARANCE: pours golden color with a slight orange hue, one finger head that quickly dissipated leaving a thin broken layer that lasted throughout, medium carbonation, moderate lacing.

SMELL: sweet caramel, bread, subtle and understated.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, sweet caramel malt, bread and a mild hop profile with a very slight metallic aftertaste. This is a very mild hop version of the pale ale style.

PALATE: medium body and carbonation, creamy.

OVERALL: this beer is unremarkable, I will not seek it out again, hop profile is too mild for my liking and had a slightly unappealing metallic taste.

Appearance is fizzy yellow with an average head and plenty of spritz in the mouth. Light body. A hint of hoppy fragrance along with cereal cooking. Some light flavors of malt and a modest hoppy edge. A little bit of resiny flavor. English muffin breadiness. Bitter metallic twang.

Bitterish bathwater taste at the finish. This seems to be a step up from the industrial lagers, but it's a small step. Still, however uninspired it's an almost drinkable light lager. Unpleasant bitter note makes me want to quit drinking it, though. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Von's supermarket in San Clemente.

A- Marigold color with a very white head. This beer actually has some of the best lacing I have seen in a while. Champagne style bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass.

S- Copper aromas with the faint sweet hop smell we all look for in a pale ale. Not as big a nose as you would expect. It's rather bland.

T- It's a pale pale ale. Not bursting with flavor like a traditional PA, but it does have a very drinkable flavor to it. Not quite up to Pale Ale status, this is more like a lager with more flavor than any other lager on earth. It could benefit from just a few more hops.

M- Thin and a bit watery. Doesn't have the body of a pale ale either.

O- I can't say that I would blind taste this and think pale ale. However at the same time if you put it up against other lighter varieties of beers (pilsners, lagers) I would say this one would come out near the top. It has a basic general drink-ability to it that makes it a good choice for an everyday thirst quencher.

This beer is a deep medium to dark orange color. The head is an off-white shade. It reaches about half a finger and has pretty good retention. Patching is dropped in reasonably good quantity.
Unlike the other two I've tried in this lineup, this beer seems like a pretty good representative of the style. Hops and malts are well-balanced, caramel and a little crust offsetting floral and grassy bitterness with a slightly sharp note to it. It's got a grainy undertone with a very mild astringency, but otherwise nothing off-putting and decently strong.
The hops are surprisingly strong given my expectations, coming to the forefront with the malts balancing but keeping it on the hoppier side. It's more herbal on the tongue with a not-quite-acidic sharpness and some lemon zest countered by a firm note of caramel and bread that leans toasty.
The body is medium, well-sustained and generally pretty fluffy off a consistent carbonation. It's got lots of crisp bite and some smoothness, too. A slight, very slight astringency is hinted at here and there but never quite cuts through.
