This one pours a hazy golden color with a nice, rich, short white head that settles slowly leaving a foamy lacing down the glass.

The nose is peppery breadiness with some citrus and floral notes and a hint of vanilla.

The taste is crisp and light being somewhat on the dry side. The hops have a slight tinge of sour that combines with the bitter and the releases some notes of apples, bread, pepper and grass.

The mouthfeel is pretty nice and just right for the style letting the taste coat the palate without being cloying.

Overall extremely drinkable and enjoyable. Another on to be recommended very highly.

Poured from a bottle into a pint shaker

Pours a hazy yellow, a little more yellow than one would like for a witbier, but not too far off the mark. Thin head, fades quickly.

Something is amiss with this aroma. It doesn't smell of coriander or citrus. It smells of soap. There's a faint sourness here, perhaps some yeasty phenols, but it's just not right. Mostly dishwashing liquid (and no, that's not coming from my glassware).

Sadly, that carries over. Faintly sour, very, very tiny amount of citrus, but soapy and phenolic. This time the phenols don't seem yeast based. They seem more medicinal. I get no coriander at all. I get no real orange peel. I get... old laundry? The soapiness is enough to be a distraction. There is a decent amount of carbonation, and the aftertaste is less soapy than the beginning of the sip, but not enough to make me want to drink more. Even after a few minutes, the aftertaste hasn't gotten any better, and in fact starts to become metallic and quite unpleasant. Very disappointed here.

The mouthfeel is actually fine, very light and fizzy. Can't really fault that.

Overall, this is a swing and a miss. It can be difficult to get the spicing just right on this style, what with having to balance coriander and both sweet and bitter orange peel (as their web site says they use). They didn't get it right with this one. Not really worth trying, in my opinion, and to be honest, it's far enough off and unpleasant enough to drink, I'm not sure I'd take one for free. Too many better options out there.

This brew is pretty good. It goes down smooth and has a good taste. The beer's appearance is great, it's a good golden color, although slightly murky. It doesn't have much of a mouth presence as it just goes down, something that I can neither argue for nor against. The taste is what I expect from a Belgian beer that's not outstanding, but good. For the price of this brew, you won't find many that are better.
