This cask conditioned monster is a visually impresive sweet stout with about an half inch of coffee colored head that slowly fades into a mere frosting. The aroma of roasted coffee beans and chocolat prevail and it actually overpowers some of the subtle caramel and malt flavor that I was waiting for. The mouthfeel is full and satisfying as you would expect for this style. One pint is certainly sufficient, but I would definatley go back for more.

Cask
A- Dark, murky, black/brown. Thick tan head with off-white flecks. Decent retention, not much lacing. Looks like a macchiato.
S- Dark malts, light choclate & coffee scent.
T- Creamy, black coffee flavors. Honestly it went down like a cool macchiato. Coffee flavors evident but not overdone in this sweet/milk? stout. Coffee-like dark malt and hop bitterness on the finish eliminate any possibility of lingering, cloying sweetness.
M- Creamy mouthfeel, head had the consistency of steamed milk, very drinkable.

On cask at Watch City (10/3/05)
I watched Carol pour this beer and was amazed by it's appearance. I may never have seen a more perfect looking beer. Black body with a sharp tan head. It was a sight to behold.
I enjoyed this beer even though it was quite warm outside today and I try to stay away from stouts if it's not cold enough for a sweater.
This beer definitely had stout characteristics but I was just not able to place the mocha, which disappointed me to some extent. Not a bad beer, but I didn't get the flavor I expected from this beers name.
Definitely a pet peeve of mine.
We all need more cask beer in our life and this one if worth checking out, if only for the beauty of the pour.
