Had on tap at Watch City 1/15/10
A: This beer pours a nice deep brown with chestnut brown hues to the edges when held to the light. 1/4 inch of off white- light khaki head that recedes rapidly. Thin sheets of lacing are left on the glass.
S: Nose is sweet and dark fruits - caramel malts and prunes are detectable.
T: Taste starts off with sweetnes - caramel malts, hints of brown sugar, and moves to more of a molasses taste and then the dark fruits kick in - prunes by and far dominate the taste but there are some light hints of date mingled in.
M: Medium body, medium carbonation, a touch thin on the tongue but moves to a richer finish with a slight chewiness.
D: Nothing stands out about this beer. It's well balanced, goes down easily, certainly one to sit with for a night but not one you'd talk about to your friends.
Serving type: on-tap
