Warehouse Liquor happens to carry a hand full of good beers now, but not a place that I would shop at all. The service is clueless, the stock is always old, and the selection is far from the best in town.

A handful of Bells, Schlafly, Goose Island, and Summit. I think some New Holland as well. Most sits on the shelf forever, and never moves. Cheers for updating the selection from what it was when I was in college, but it is still sub par to the better places around town and the quality is boarder line bad. Go to Westroads or Pinch instead.

Warehouse Liquor in Carbondale has just recently begun to carry a decent selection of craft beer. Their stock is typically hit or miss and one time you might find a great selection of Founders and Bells and the next time you find mostly just a few ST bombers that you were looking for.

Warehouse has definitely improved over time as have most of the liquor stores in Southern Illinois (especially over the last 2.5-3 years). Their employees are not knowledgeable about beer at all and typically do not even know what is and isn't in stock if you ask. That said, I have found plenty of gems in this place that the staff didn't even know they hand. Last example of such was walking in shortly before Halloween and asking whether or not they carried Southern Tier's Pumking. The two staffers said they never heard of it before but that "if it's beer, it's somewhere over there" pointing vaguely to their craft beer area. They did have it in... 13 bottles in fact. I kindly took 12. :P

Hopefully, in the future, I can say of Warehouse what I've been saying about most beer stores in Southern Illinois: They are getting better every day and people are realizing that beer can be just as great and interesting as wine and liquor. Above average for the meantime with the possibility of having a diamond in the rough occasionally.
