Bitter rivalry is a great beer from two great breweries (Swamp Head and Terrapin) to commemorate a great occasion (World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party). This beer has a ton of citrusy hop flavors and is light and refreshing enough that would be a perfect beer to enjoy in mass quantities in the late fall during a tailgate party. Overall, I'm glad to have tried this one. Hope to see this offering again. Go Gators!

On tap at the House of Brews. Served in a snifter.
Appearance - Hazy deep orange. Very small head. Thin collar.
Smell - Hoppy. Citrus hop. Nutty malt. Becomes more of a bitter after the hops die out a bit. Weird bitter finish.
Mouthfeel - Bitter. High carbonation. Medium body.
Overall - At first I thought it a travesty that they labeled this a bitter, but I get it. It's just too hoppy.

Had a pint at Swamp Head. Pours a murky brownish gold with very little head at all. Aroma of sweet fruits such as peaches and grapes, some lemon peel, and light toffee malts. Flavor follows suit, rather sweet and fruity for the style, with peaches and white grape, a hint of lemon peel, with some nice sweet toffee malt backbone. Slick with medium carbonation, relatively light and easy drinking. Not bad, and definitely a bit different for the style. Worth a try for sure.

This beer commemorates the Florida versus Georgia rivalry, specifically the neutral site game in Jacksonville (known as World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party). This year will be the 90+ meeting. Very cool as each of these breweries are based in the college towns of the two teams. GO GATORS!
No head really on a murky apple cider orange body. Aroma of orange, nutmeg, caramel and some autumn spices, even feel like I get some pumpkin and/or cinnamon but the aroma is fairly mild. Flavor opens with a tart and bitter beginning which fades to a More semisweet citrus note. Additional notes of wood, caramel, fresh vegetables and resins. Medium to full body for the style and light to moderate carbonation. A nice beer, unique version of the style. Definitely tasted even better knowing the association with one of the greatest rivalries in sports.
