On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy dark reddish orange with a small creamy white head on top. Big sweet malt aroma, some cherry, and some earthy grass in the background, but mostly sweet. Flavor is sweet malts and cherry up front as in the aroma, them fades to a surprising burst of earthy and grassy hops on the back end. A lingering dirtying finish on this, but an otherwise drinkable brew. Medium bodied and somewhat slick with carbonation on the low-medium end. Pretty smooth and interesting.

On-tap at Ale & Witch

A - The pour is a tawny amber capped with a tidy and persistent off-white head. The hue has an appreciable radiance.

S - The nose is lightly malty balanced with a subtle earthy-meadowy hop sharpness,

T - The taste is quite mild, and in this case that is perfectly fine. The beer seems to have a soothing or quenching character that is at least equal to any specific notions of flavor. There are hints of everything in this one, but the notes are very delicate; I detect caramel, cocoa, roast barley, chicory, floral and herbal hops and some sweet fruitiness from the yeast. Alcohol is unnoticed.

M - The feel is real nice. Creamy, lighter-than-medium body.

O - Overall this is a very solid and easy drinking brew. It is not over-the-top with any strong flavors nor is it hugely dynamic; instead it shines in its simplicity.

On-tap at the tasting room for St. Patrick's Day

Poured a nice dark amber/red color with a thin, slightly off-white head. Moderate lacing left on the glass.

Lots of caramel and nuts in both the aroma and the taste. Sweet caramels and a slight nutty flavor that I usually associate with chocolate malt (which I presume they used to get the color, but I could be mistaken.) Not really any discernible hop flavors or aromas but the beer was not cloying at all.

Medium body with a nice clean finish.

Very refreshing for a hot March day and a beer that I wish was more available.

This was originally brewed for the Hoggetowne Medieval Fair but sold out on the first day with no more available for subsequent days from my understanding.
