A bit of a dive bar. That's a plus. But I can't get over the stale bar may smell. This place is in serious need of a thorough cleaning. Seriously, the smell is affecting the rating of the one beer I've never had, Coors Blue Moon White IPA.

Prices are very good for Boston but the selection is meager at best. 20 beers on tap with six being macros, ten being large craft brewers (Harpoon, Sam, etc.), and the rest being easy-to-find micros (Magic Hat, Left Hand, etc.)

Even if I lived near here, this would not be one of my go-to bars. (537 characters)

as a former "back in the day" haunt, I guess I have a slight soft spot for this place - one of those bars where you and your buddies always seemed to wind up at the end of a night out, though not for the beer selection. everything beer-wise is your run-of-the-mill bass/heineken/blue moon/BMC etc. they usually carry a few locals: sam adams boston lager and seasonal as well as harpoon (naturally), but they also have wachusett, sometimes BBC. food is okay: typical inexpensive bar fare that fills the hole. service too is average, unless you happen to be an attractive young coed - then it becomes more attentive.

best feature of this place is that out back they have a pretty nice patio, which is great for the summer months. bottom line though is that in terms of craft, you're a stone's through from deep ellum up cambridge street and sunset down harvard ave, two area gems. even common ground provides far better beer options; unless it's a rowdier and/or younger type of crowd you're with, or you're a smoker and like the idea of the patio - not much reason to hit up the draft. (1,085 characters)

The Draft is the old Kinivara pub that I used to hit with quite some regularity back in my younger days. The funny thing is that it is almost exactly the same inside as it was in the Kinvara days--they've just slapped some paint on the outside and changed the theme and signs to a dive/sports bar from a dive/irish bar.

The beer selection was pretty lousy. They did have a Berkshire beer on tap and the bottle selection was very limited to mass produced stuff. So I hesitantly ordered a BBC draft and I was worried it was going to taste dirty because this place is anything but clean. The beer was fine though thankfully and I even got a second one.

Service was friendly and fine and this place does remind me of my younger days but it really hasnt changed much even if the name has changed.
The only way I'd suggest this place is if everything else was too crowded or if you simply wanted somewhere that is close to mass pike or storrow drive which was the main reason for my stopping here. (993 characters)

Stopped in for lunch while killing some time in the neighborhood today.

Ambiance: Somewhat bland, just about your typical "no-frills" college happy hour late night hangout kind of place.

It was empty when I entered, 3 other people at the bar, and one group at a table.

There were about 15 taps, at least half the spots dedicated to things like Bass, Guiness, BMC, etc...for Craft offerings they had a few Samuel Adams, Cisco Grey Lady (which I ordered), Harpoon...the average New England stuff. I was kind of disappointed for a place called Draft.

Service was average, didnt engage in any small talk but was friendly, and brought me whatever I asked when he wasnt busy.

The food was mediocre, at best. I ordered the Cuban sandwich but was told they were out of the pulled pork - so I settled for a cheeseburger instead. Ordered Medium, arrived medium-well. Would have said something but the damn thing took a good 15-20 minutes to arrive despite the place being empty. Fries were decent.

There are far better places in the area, I wouldnt bother with a visit unless you are desperate, or in the mood to slum it. No wonder I found parking right in front of the venue two days in a row. (1,192 characters)
